@ Gul Rukh

They guy only want to facilitate us. Some of the candidates reported against the inconvenience suffered at PIMS owing to the staff on strike. This is the alternative FPSC has arranged for us.

You can get the challan form from any branch of national bank or a photocopy shop located near national bank. It's called a treasury challan.

Camran, did you go to Madina Lab? If you go there in a day or two, kindly get the contact number of Madina Lab.

Thank you.

Regards,
a friend of mine went for tests yesterday here is the number
MADINA LAB 051 2804313, 03055550602

Madina Lab is there at Khyber Plaza Blue Area Islamabad. They would take Rs 2000/- from you and provide the mentioned 7 reports the next day.

You need not to got to PIMS if you feel any difficulty. Medina option is better and get it done from there.
They are overcharging for the said tests. The standard rate is 1/3 of what they are charging.

I'm also scheduled to be at Islamabad on Saturday. I would surely like to know if the lab is open on weekends.

Well I just went to FPSC to discuss my case. I came to know that one can defer his medical examination by sending FPSC and directorate of health, who are conducting the medical examinations, a letter stating the reasons for deferment. Medical examinations for deferred candidates are held after 2-3 months.

I just called FPSC and they told me that i could get the tests done from anywhere if the PIMPS saga continued, provided the testing facility would have a qualified pathologist and radiologist to write a report. The report is usually a brief two liner in my experience. They also advised polyclinic as an alternative to PIMS. I guess that about wraps it up.

But they also said it should be done locally - Islamabad, in case of applicants appearing at Islamabad. I asked them if I could get it done from Jinnah Hospital since I was at Lahore, they said we recommend a local lab as we can verify the reports easily.

So, alternative to PIMS could be any lab at Islamabad (though FPSC recommended is Madina Lab), where you find a qualified pathologist who should also write a report (Yes - it's barely 2-3 lines) and append his signature for you.
