AoA, would the senior members esp csp's guide us as how to attempt a command task. As I observed from the psycho experience posts that sometime a
command task requires technical knowledge about some particular field which I think most of the candidates ( who are still students) don't possess and there can be a few who even don't have sufficient knowledge of that particular field. So in such cases what should be done? And pls tell us what is to assess through the command task (knowledge or approach)?

dear bro, first thing to start with is to try be an invigilator..suppose u r allowed to select 3 candidates out of 20 in a command task then what would you do?..whom would you select?..the number of candidates gives you an sufficient sample to reduce your own biasness..so even if you are not selected remember that others selected would have performed better at the moment even if they were not as sharp as u r..

secondly go for the book "psychology for the armed services" written by American Psychologists, you will find many useful things...(usually book is found in a military library, you are lucky if you find it in It-war Bazaar)

be bold and don't hesitate.. get an overview of command tasks before going to ISSB.. they just check your responsiveness, leadership traits and teamwork.. wish you every success

Dear, culd u be more specific about this book? i would appreciate the authors and publishers name. and is it easily available in Pakistan?

Secondly, is it pertenant in the selecion examinations held n Pakistan? or just an overview of what the US armed forces look for in a potential candidate? (i mean the two institutions could differ in their criteria of selection)

Command Task is a really important phase in CSS Psychological Test. I also felt really scared cz like you I had no idea how to go abt it. However after my experience I would like to share a few observations which u might find in other posts as well.
First and foremost Command Task is NOT abt technical knowledge. Of course the panel expects you to tackle the given prblm in a reasonable and rational way but that definitely does not include technical knowledge abt the department. Just a few relevant suggestion that u have to write down on a piece of paper n hand over to the panel BEFORE the Command Task. Just jot down a few relevant points n a strategy to tackle the given prblm.
Time is of essence in Command Task. Try to sum up your meeting in the given time period.
When it's your turn get up n go to the chair in a confident way. After salaam etc start the meeting by explaining the prblm n then ask the members for their opinion.
Listen to their suggestions n DO include them in your final plan that u will announce before the meeting is over.
When a member gives opinion, discuss it in a polite n nice way n dont just silently accept Everything that comes your way. Discussion would show that u are interested in what the others have to say .
The most important thing in Command Task is that u would be evaluated on two basis a)your own command task b)the input u have given in the tasks of your group members. So take part in the tasks of others as well. It will get u really good remarks from the panel.
