Default Guidence for pol.science needed

I am thinking of replacing sociology and journalism with polscience.I wanted to opt it in 2011 as being from medical background,i think polscience contains core concepts to make sense of topics like democracy and federaalism. However i didnt take it as most people said it was not scoring. As a result I felt, being from a completly different field i was having difficulty in thoroughly understanding current affairs articles of foreg Rasul baksh rais. Now after seeing the result of 2010 of this subject,i am thinking of opting it. I need guidence about the time taken to cover it if one gives 4hours daily to polscience.Secondly will it be helpful to me in compulsory subjects by giving me a solid base about political issues?Thirdly does it require cramming? Lastly i have a suggestion to fpsc that pol science should be a compulsory subject.

no doubt, pol science will solve all ur political questions. It has been low scoring subject that is why members suggest not to opt it.
Write to the FPSC personally for your suggestions. This forum cant do anything regarding your plea.

Thanks

If u have such determination regarding pol science so u are absolutly right, dont think just opt it as it will cover many subject for u in CSS. Cant say anything about time frame becoz it depends upon a person's own picking power.Just took the book and start it.

there are two papers in political scienec. First comprises of Western and Muslim political thought and the second Constitutions.the former is all philosophy and the latter is a techincal subject, it may require craming; Good for Medical bacground students. Regarding time frame You can read and understand one topic in a day. Lets suppose Platos political thought now to understand his you have to understand The poltical system of Athenes. Ones You got his poltical ideals you can easily understand What Aristotle had to say. here u have completed 1 question of first paper and entire political science. From there you come directly to Machiavelli and his political ideals. Then Thomas Hobbes, Rousseaue, Locke, Montesquieu JS Mill, Hegel, and Marx. Now set a time frame urself for each philospher. Ones You done that You will be a political scientist urself capable of handling all types of questions. You can finish Plato in a day If you understood him, it could spoil ur month if you didnt get him. Now this is up to you.

For second paper, there are many constitutions whose minute details can make a man crazzy. You have an option however set time table for each constitution, complete it within time and then get down to an other. May be a month if you allocate 4 hours a day. Roughly You can finish entire political science in two months if you allocate 4 hours a day. However Hegel spoiled my one month, i never regreted the loss.
