@Sidra Siyal

I'm not at all good at question spotting .. It is also a dangerous practice, as the 2012 paper depicts it .. Most of the questions were never seen in past papers .. So I would advise you to prepare your topics well with a view to answer any set question from there in the exam .. You always do have the room to skip one or two topics for your preparation, as I skipped the Ottoman part .. But in 2012 it was asked both in Paper 1 & 2 .. So plan out carefully and wisely .. Best of luck

@ khyal

Please go through earlier posts of this thread to know about sources for Paper 2 .. If you are short of time you can always skip the making of extensive notes and go for bullets instead .. But you'll need to study the texts, one cannot succeed without that .. Best of luck

Regards ..

Dear Stunner,

although you requested to stunner but i thought you need answer of that is why i am posting here the answer of your question, i hope it will be help ful for you
The Abbasids judicial system consisted on three kinds of courts
1… civil courts of the Qazis for Muslim.
A civil court was conducted by a judge, called Qazi. According to the theory of Muslim law, Qazi must be a male adult, in full possession of his mental faculties, a free citizen, a Muslim, well versed in fiqh or Muslim law theology. Every town had a Qazi’s court , while big cities had several such courts. In Baghdad there wasthe court of chief Qazi called Qazi ul Qazzat.
2… civil courts for the non Muslims
The courts were presided over by their own judges.
3…criminal courts
Though no clear distinction was made between civil and criminal justice, yet criminal cses were dealt by the magistrate called Sahib ul Mazlim or nazir ul mazalim. There were few criminal courts in Abbasids era

Sir with due respect i dont think sharing your notes here will anyway negatively affect your coming book or publisher,instead it would be a good tool to create a buzz about the publisher and the author , indeed its your prerogative , i think buying book is always preffered than printing notes,some of us who ve last attempt left will certainly would not be able to get benefit of your effort.anyway, i need something about muslim rule in africa,if you could please help it will be highly appreciated:thumbup:

I'm afraid I'm bound by contractual obligations .. However, much of the guidance I offer here is exactly in line with my notes and preparation method ..

'The Preaching of Islam' by Sir Thomas Arnold deals sufficiently with the Muslim rule in Africa, 2 chapters are devoted for this topic in that book .. If you still need to inquire about something specific please don't hesitate ..

Regards ..
