Aray ye kesi baat ki meri pyari bhen ne? Insha Allah definitely you will pass. For the time being just focus on your remaining papers. And one last piece of advice, "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade"..;) Sincerest Wishes.
Thanks Malik. It was my first attempt and I had tried my level best.I had written this essay in a general manner nit going a lot with factsand figures..In the past ofhuman being,I want to represent that how with positive approach and creative thinking man has revolutionized himself by using the things surrounding him.Tell me one more thing please that is it necessary to load your essay with facts and figures.
It depends on the topic you chose. But whenever you write an essay you must have some concrete arguments or facts and figures because they are the life and soul of your essay. Just like a lawyer defends his case in front of a jury, and proves his point via evidence, similarly you have to display argumentative skills analytically so that when you draw a handsome conclusion the examiner is left with no choice but to agree with you. |
topic no:8 seems good and related to exprience people encounter in their lives.

:con It means FPSC doesn't want to let someone pass. This is quite tough and there is no topic about women as it used to be so long time. I don't think so those who are attempting very first time surely get through.
May Allah help them. This is indication that forth coming exam ll be unexpected and tough enough. So, in order to go through the CE in forth scarifies your eyes. And burn your all boats.. :evil:evil:blink:onesec:cry:cry |
this was a quite difficult paper in my opinion. I will write more about it once the papers are over. then i will put my opinion as to what mistakes people might have made.

I don't remember the exact detailed outline, but it was something like this:
Intro War on Terror Human Rights Present situation of human right abuses Causes of these human right abuses Effects of human right abuses Solutions to curb the abuse of human rights Conclusion I touched upon many things, e.g abuse of human rights due to laws, deaths, refugees, iraq/syria/afghanistan/pakistan/yemen, prejudice and hatred in west and muslims, notorious prisons, social/economic destruction, children's future, education, livelihood, etc etc I wrote 1.5 pages outline and 6 pages on essay.. Spent too much time on outline so had to shorten the essay but I touched all the points related to abuse of human rights due to war on terror. Do you guys think about 1500-1600 words is enough to pass it? Gave two nice quotations in the end as well.. I think they changed the max word requirement from 3500 to 3000, while keeping the minimum at 2500. |
yeah i also took this topic as a two tiered argument.. freedom of expression in such a situation where there are disagreements among parties..not just the freedom of expression
Did you mention Charlie?
I disapprove of what you say, but I defend to death your right to say 1. Thesis Statement: • In order to create a peaceful world, we must pay respect to the difference of opinion 2. Executive Summary of the essay 3. Significance of the issue • Importance of one’s right to say in today’s world of intolerance. 4. What is right to say? • Right to say as a freedom of speech • Right to say as a basic human right • Islamic injunctions • UN Charter of human rights and right to say 5. Significance of protecting others’ right to say • Secure others’ rights and get your rights secured • Mandatory to achieve co existence • Examples from past i. Orthodox Church ii. Arab before Islam 6. Problems due to insecurity of the right to say • Clash of civilizations • Frustration • Terrorism 7. Policy Recommendation • Difference of opinion must be respected in order to achieve peace • Psychological Aspect 8. Limitation of Right to say • Freedom of speech and Hate Speech 9. Conclusion
Same here. 1. Evolution of Man 2. Evolution of Society 3. Development of Culture 4. Freedom Is Man's inherent Right - Man is created in God's image. - God granted man freedom at the expense of His own Freedom. - Iqbal 5. Types of Disagreements between individuals: - Disagreements on Facts - Disagreements on Attitudes 6. Disagreements between Civilizations, Nations, Ideologies 7. Creative use of Freedom 8. Abuse of Freedom - Democracy - Media (Charlie if course had to have a go on these so called upholders of freedom) - Religion (Witch hunts in Medieval Europe led by the Church) Conclusion So, allow freedom of speech yes but if the exercise of freedom is purposively detrimental to the interests, sentiments of an individual or group then it is our moral obligation to stop thrm. |
I forgot to mention 'Repression of Freedom'
Did you mention Charlie?
I attempted this essay topic and i believe this essay is incomplete without reference to Charlie Hebdo. It is because the essay topic in itself is the saying of Voltaire who was from France. My outline was "somewhat" like this: Introduction Voltaire and Freedom of Speech Freedom of speech is a basic human right Modern/western standards on freedom of speech Hypocrisy in Europe when it comes to antisemitism Charlie Hebdo incident in Paris Stance of Pope Francis Islam and freedom of speech Incidents with Prophets and their responses Are there ethical limitations? Pakistan and freedom of speech Attack on journalists in Pakistan (examples of hamid mir and raza rumi) Views of Naom Chomsky on freedom of speech (Support for freedom of speech) What to do in certain situations? Concluding remarks Now i dont know if the examiner will like it or not but i supported freedom of speech through all means. Including Islam and response of Prophets. I also supported it through charlie hebdo incident on how an almost bankrupt magazine which was working on debts became an instant hit and sold millions of copies in January 2015. "Ignore" was my conclusion without getting violent as freedom of speech is a basic human right. |
