I don't remember the exact detailed outline, but it was something like this:
Intro War on Terror Human Rights Present situation of human right abuses Causes of these human right abuses Effects of human right abuses Solutions to curb the abuse of human rights Conclusion I touched upon many things, e.g abuse of human rights due to laws, deaths, refugees, iraq/syria/afghanistan/pakistan/yemen, prejudice and hatred in west and muslims, notorious prisons, social/economic destruction, children's future, education, livelihood, etc etc I wrote 1.5 pages outline and 6 pages on essay.. Spent too much time on outline so had to shorten the essay but I touched all the points related to abuse of human rights due to war on terror. Do you guys think about 1500-1600 words is enough to pass it? Gave two nice quotations in the end as well.. I think they changed the max word requirement from 3500 to 3000, while keeping the minimum at 2500.
dont think too much about teh word count. word count should not be the focus; substance should. |
isn't violation of human rights different to abuse.. abuse is misuse not violation in my opinion
for fourth topic one had to make a thesis statement what identity would be in his essay then discuss the globalization and impact of essay.. |

As I did not have the statements of these treaties in my memory therefore I did not attempt the question. Or start from analyzing technological developments and their impact of morphing traditional identities to Digital identities and then move on with arguments, evidence, case studies and finally conclusion In my humble opinion, defining every terminology is not necessary unless you are writing a thesis, formal report or legal language. |
Whats this, a very difficult paper, only serial NO. 1 is easy
There are more dimentions to the topic.. first is what sort of identities have changed if any, second in past whether they remained unchanged or changed with time, what were agents and compare those with those of modern digitised technologies only then could one satisfy the topic. its specifically mentioned in instruction to use exposition, argumentation, narration and explanation and other modes. How could one even narrate or given arguments with a thesis.. |
I attempted this essay topic and i believe this essay is incomplete without reference to Charlie Hebdo. It is because the essay topic in itself is the saying of Voltaire who was from France. My outline was "somewhat" like this:
Introduction Voltaire and Freedom of Speech Freedom of speech is a basic human right Modern/western standards on freedom of speech Hypocrisy in Europe when it comes to antisemitism Charlie Hebdo incident in Paris Stance of Pope Francis Islam and freedom of speech Incidents with Prophets and their responses Are there ethical limitations? Pakistan and freedom of speech Attack on journalists in Pakistan (examples of hamid mir and raza rumi) Views of Naom Chomsky on freedom of speech (Support for freedom of speech) What to do in certain situations? Concluding remarks Now i dont know if the examiner will like it or not but i supported freedom of speech through all means. Including Islam and response of Prophets. I also supported it through charlie hebdo incident on how an almost bankrupt magazine which was working on debts became an instant hit and sold millions of copies in January 2015. "Ignore" was my conclusion without getting violent as freedom of speech is a basic human right.
Well thought out outline. I would say we can't ignore injustice. |
