yeah its everyone's right to secure his/her career first, but their career is already secured, due to their professional degree, now their next step should be to put some hard work in their own fields, why they try to change the field?
jitne hard work yahan kartay hain, wo apni field mein he kar lain, tou kahan sa kahan pohonch jayen
i don't have any personal grudge against the cream of our country, but this must be the thought that if you are already having an opportunity, you may not try to put your feet everywhere

I personaly feel , its open arena to fight . Desiring for growth is right of every1. To cater opportunities , 1 is free to go anywhere he r she wants to.

I totally agree with 'Unique'. Doctors and Engineers occupy precious seats in the public sector colleges and universities. Govt. spend millions of rupees on them and they waste it by aspiring to join the civil service rather than practicing their own profession. It is injustice to B.A, B.Com and B.Sc students who suffer unemployment.

But dear fellows the tragedy is that we are not educated according to our temperament but the trends prevailing in the society.
isn't it a fact that intelligent students are considered suitable for science subjects and, well lets say, mediocre ones are geared towards the arts subjects...

so what one really wants to become or thinks himself/herself suitable for becomes irrelevant. these are the wishes of our parents and trends in society that shape our course of education.

so its a tragedy that after spending so much time and energy for a degree in medical or engineering discipline, one ends up qualifying the competitive exam for the posts of css(my personal case is an example of this... :wait)

bcz

m not a doc but my 2 cousins r docs n my sis is going for it.I feel taht parents also play role in decideing childrens future. they strictly demands 4rm them to b a good doc. But now ths theory is not implemented with the great frequency. Now they adopt different attitude n when a doc is disappointed with the dooming career he or she speciall she opts CSP.
bcz a single girl cannot do progress as she requires without her partner or a family background n support during her start of career(pakistan).

I think the basic reason why professionals prefer to join civil service is that there is uncertaininty everywhere, doctors are not paid their due share. Engineers too are getting meager salaries and lack of growth is yet another factor. If government starts facilitating doctors and engineers then I am sure no one will prefer to join civil service.

So a holistic approach is needed to reform the social mentality else the trend will continue and this country will keep loosing good professionals in the form of CSP or brain drain.

If a computer engineer got a job with benefits of social security, car, home etc, along with social acceptance, no one will have any problem sticking to their profession.
1.why they dont want to serve as doctors?are they not satisfied with their job description??
My perception is this....
they are absolutely fine with their job description but the salaries what government offers they are not ready to accept. As you know after MBBS doctors initate their practise in Government hospital where they have to spent more time but in reward the earnings is not according to their input.
2.is it not a loss to country?? where we already facing shortage of doctors, now if after completing medical studies doctors are dreaming of AFSARE SHAHI what it shows whether they did MBBS just to fulfill their parents dream??
Of course it is loss for country, loss for those people who ofcourse fall in the merit list right after names of such doctors.

3
.if a doctor does not contnue his/her practice,is it not as such that he has wasted his/her 5years??

He wasted his 5 years as well as government funds which is fixed for each medical students in government medical colleges.
