If the leaders are pinned on for poverty and other fatalistic disease then indirectly masses are themselves responsible for this trauma. Who elect the leaders? who let them do what they want? who don't bother to stop them from looting the state? absolutely common man is responsible to some extent. Now the question is why the people don't stop them, because they have no vision of such level. Here comes illiteracy, so illiteracy should be minimized. Every Govt does best effort for education but schools of remote areas are still present a scene of cattle farms, why? Here is Corruption involve. So every fault gives birth to another.........

In a recent book titled as "Why Nations Fail" James Acemoglu and James Robinson explore major reasons of economic failures or nations which lead to growing poverty. They opine that its the lack of true representative and independent democratic set up which does not let economic institutions establish and grow in poor countries. Political/democratic development is directly proportional to the economic development and growth. Since our political set in not independent and democratic in nature, therefore it is dominated by only rich people who can even buy voters and they formulate and pursue such economic policies that the rich become richer and poor becomes poorer. And since power to establish and mold institutions rests with selected few, therefore poor people cant do anything to change their fate. Therefore, i would say that the major reason of poverty is our political set up or the lack of it. Secondly, the low literacy rate, low growth rate, and lack of poor friendly long term economic policies are one of the major reasons, which all add to unemployment and inflation. poor governance, law and order and such other factors are also key problems. Regards. |

First of all We guys don't have the plan for our future i.e family planning soon after our marital life as we start to increase the population of the country without having a view on our condition that how we will afford if we don't have the power to take the burden of what we are doing by having family growth. Secondly it goes on to corruption, unemployment and other environmental issues(muashrati masail).

Basic Causes Of Poverty in Pakistan..
A large portion of the population in Pakistan is uneducated and unaware about their capabilities. · A number of people in Pakistan are living their lives without realizing their income and expenditure thus unable to strike a balance between these. · The rate of individual income in Pakistan is very low. A man on the street hardly gets his truly need fulfilled within his income. · The unemployment in Pakistan is the greatest cause of poverty. The resources of Pakistan are underdeveloped and the chances for the employment are very rare than the rate of population. · The rate of population in Pakistan is very high, the burden of a big family is on the shoulders of a single individual. · There are very less chances of establishing small business in Pakistan with little capital. · They don't even get loan on easy terms from banks. · The high prices of the commodities do not leave a common man to arrange himself for progress and thus the culture of saving is diminishing. The survival of poor people has become very difficult and they feel it a Herculean task to survive with both the ends meet. These are some rOOt Causes of POVERTY in PAKISTAN |

The reasons pointed out by majority of fellows, like iliteracy, lack of planning, corruption, population boom, unemployment, unawareness of capabilities, carelesness etc etc all are secndry things. I will fully endorse the opinion of Raz; the basic thing is of leadership.
Poverty is sort of chain reaction, which are caused by series of events influenced by one and the other. The first and the foremost thing is leadership, ones leadership is corrected, than the governance issues, planning, unemployment, illiteracy and poverty will no more be the issues of our country. We have lot of examples in world, Malaysia, China and Korea can be quoted as some of the examples where leadership placed all things in order and these countries progressed by leaps and bounds.

Because china has the one-child policy so that they can control their economy where as in Pakistan, their is no such policy for the people who can't afford to provide there children a good environment and atmosphere.
