Mulla has truly changed your mind and given you narrow thinking style. Iqbal said:

Khud badaltay nahin Quran ko badal detay hein
aah kis darjay Faqihan-e-Haram huey be Taufiq

Inn Ghulamo ka yeh maslak hay k naqis hay kitab
K sikhati nahin momin ko ghulami k tareeq

We don't need any one in uniform. It is a democratic country and we need a democratically elected president.

Those who play with the constitution are punishable by death even according to the constitution of Pakistan.

I am 100 % agree with you my dear. No uniform, no mulla-ism..... Progressive-ism of Z. A. Bhutto is only solution of the current problem.

No doubt, Musharraf has somewhere showed followness of that wisdom which was possessed by Bhutto.

But He has chosen the wrong path to come in Power corroidor.

@ Mazher : please again go through my previous posting, it was posted a week earlier after shooting of ranger and firing of government buildings and i wrote 'current dealing' that means the dealing at that period of time.

The then policy of the government was very much welcomed as many in government circles were very much enthusiastic for operation and be noted that if there would have been operation a week earlier thn the death toll would certainly be in hundreds.... that is very much appreciative. nonetheless, what followed is really condemnable.

As regards your notion of 'progressive-ism' of bhutto, brother you must recall the famous saying 'power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely' and absolute power corrupted bhutto as well and his policies in later period of his rule were certainly against many sections of society. this was the reason that he was easily dethroned, put behind bars and later executed......

nawaz sharif also got a form of absolute power and he started ploying with the things and was caught to use his hegemony against musharraf. if we see circumstances then coup de-tat of musharraf was a happy omen and was lauded in many circles. majority of the people, who are against policies of musharraf, made joys on his coming into power.

you must recall the events leading to coming into power of musharraf. it was army, which retaliated. first general karamat was sent home thn musharraf was aimed when a lower tier lt. general was tried to be made chief. this was not acceptable to other generals, who moved troops for safety of musharraf. any how, what happened must not be followed again. It is a democratic country and democracy should flourish, however, it is not only the supremacy of army to come into power on other side of picture it is weakness of our political institutions and politicians which provide back doors for coming of generals into power.

yeah brother it remained a dismay for our country that we have had strong individuals and personalities but efficacy of our institutions declined through the years and the process is still on-going.

If we recall pakistan`s annals, We barely had any politician who worked for beloved country. We never had any responsible leader for pakistan. After the death of Quaid-e-azam, Pakistan came btw few hands. Our economy system changed into Captalism which aggrandise the property of Landlords.

Pakistan faced the threat of Army and Marshall laws for many decades. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the only politician who advocates the democratic government but he curbed to act upon his intentions. Againt we trapped in tyrant governments.

After a long while, We had Musharraf as our president. Although he works by help of his power but his advent leads accretion in our economy as well as ambience. If we count his Good and Bad done, We will find him better future of pakistan. Introduction of new cities, new policies, expand of business, relation with foriegn countries, reputation all around the world are commendable jobs. I guess, Musharraf deserves to govern Pakistan

Chao,

salam
we need Mussaraf or not but he needs Pakistan to rule.we can only have a leader in a real sense if we people are strong and believe ourselves but unfortunately that is not the case.ruler and the ruled are same.we have drifted away from our religion the result is chaos that prevails in our country.
