WHY DEMOCRACIES LIKE OURs FAIL??? IN THE LIGHT OF UNO REPORT, SEE WHAT AGA KHAN SAYS TO GERMAN NEWS MAGAZINE INTERVIEW 2006:
Reasons: Countries where: * Lack of education in public and politicians about democracy, about rights and duties of awam * Incompetent and Corrupt governments * Inability to deliver to the public * Government doesn't improve the Living condition of their masses/awam * Population that is predominantly illiterate Aga Khan why democracies fail: BBC Monitoring Europe - Political Supplied by BBC Worldwide Monitoring October 9, 2006 Monday "Quote SPIEGEL: Not many are functioning democracies. Aga Khan: People speak about failed states. I do not think that states can fail, but democracies certainly can. The failure of democracies is not specific to the Islamic world. About two years ago the UN commissioned a study of Latin America and came to the conclusion that some 55 per cent of the populations there would prefer to live under a paternalistic dictatorship rather than an incompetent, corrupt democracy that does not improve their living conditions. What do you gain if you hold a referendum in a population that is predominantly illiterate? What should the vote on a constitution mean if hardly any of those entitled to vote know the difference between a presidential government and a constitutional monarchy? Votes, laws: all that is important, but far from sufficient for a democratic development. Uquote" ================================================== =========== Why Democracies Fail By Phil B: * Most people are stupid, don't care, or think they can not make a difference. * Most politicians have power and money. Power corrupts. Money corrupts too. Most politicians want even more money and power. Therefore, most politicians are corrupt or corruptible. ================================================== ========= ONE REASON WHY DEMOCRACIES FAIL??: by Steven D Thu Dec 17th, 2009 at 08:282 AM EST * Democracies fail when their political leaders vote not in the public interest but in the interest of their wealthy "friends"And sometimes it doesn't take many politicians to bring about a massive failure to promote the general welfare. I dont know who is playing this puppetry but one thing is for sure this Country is falling on hard times now with internal & external pressure at the same time. What an untimely decision by SC! It has diminished respect for CJ in my eyes. He should have distanced himself from this conspiracy. What would happen had he delayed his order for few days? Mr. Qadri has successfully made SC controversial today.
Who is this dual nationalist to proclaim PM & Cabinet as "EX" one day before the announcement of official order? Who is he to declare " Aadha kaam hugaya-- Aadha baqi hai"?. Who is he to trumpet his opposition to culpable punishment? Such a bizarre situation.. Quote:

There is no link between Dr Sb,s long march and SC's order. The case was pending for long when Pm was a cabinet Minister. Secondly NAB produced investigation report before the CJ showing the involvement of those people to which SC replied that why then accused were not being arrested. That is very simple. CJ said why every time you people rush to SC even when NAB ordinance gives direction that when Agency after sufficient investigation finds someone guilty it shall arrest the accused. SC has not done anything. It was the NAB which found ex Minster guilty and went to SC for endorsement of Arrest.

It is just an order made on the investigation report of NAB, which failed to take action at its own even though it was empowered to do so by virtue of relevant sections of NAB ordinance. Do you know when an application is made to court under section 22 A B of CRPCfor registration of FIR which the police is bound to register, The court hears the matter on urgent basis disposing of the application on priority basis. Now accused can not accuse court that It has thousands of cases to dispose of and why it has heard this application. Secondly every statute has its own procedure and you know that in CRPC if Police after investigation is satisfied that a peson is involved in cognizable offense, it can arrest him without arrest warrant. And if Police goes to Magisterial court and says that this is the investigation and "what we should do", the court will definitely say that why (you) Police come here when Law empowers you do so at your own. whoever the person may be when he is found involved he has tobe arrested accordingly, according to the rules and procedure and that is what we mean by rule of law. Even if a diplomat commits crime he will be arrested untill he claims immunity and proves it. Things can not be left to perceptions. Law is law!
