Just a few quick words on the subject:

1. We have to distinguish between Education and Information. Most of the times in schools and colleges we get information, not education.

2. What we define as morality is, in fact, priorities-things that society thinks should be part of an ideal character.

3. The purpose of education is to create conformity to these priorities.

4. Failure to create this conformity is because of various reasons:

(I) Linking morality with religion makes one who denies religion,
deny morality as well.
(II) Formal education being only one part of the whole process of
sociolization, other factors e.g. environment and personal
experiences overwhelm or dominate the effect of Formal
Education.
(III)Violation of social norms (usually called "evil") is not always
voluntary. Some people do it because they have to.
(IV) Sometimes a person might doubt the whole idea of morality
considering, instead, some other values more useful for the
society or for anything else he considers more important than
it. Personal priorities in this case are pitted against the
the priorities of the society.
(V) Sometimes a person believes in the values of the society and
still violates them, the easiest interpretation for such actions
is to say that such people are "weak", who, yielding to
every little temptation stop acting in accordance with their
beliefs.
(VI)Lastly there are the non-compliants who do evil simply
because of, perhaps, a fascination for evil.
