Any progress in the process of JCA. Someone told me that there are 40 seats of JCA. Is it right?

It was shared by a forum member in his previous post.
According to him 20 seats are to be filled by departmental promotion while the rest 20 are open to fresh appointment.

Actually there are 35 candidates for JCA because Sajid Iqbal became judicial magistrate BPS18.
