From what I could observe, attendance in Lahore was over 95%
IMO test was set to pre-screen as much candidates as possible.

I read on this forum that last time the recruitment drive was put-off, mot sure how true is it. Any one would like to confirm?

I appeared last time, the total number of candidates were almost one thousand for all the categories, five different papers were set for five categories. Having bsc in environmental engineering i fell into the category of climatology and environment. Content weightage was quite different than Sunday's test. For the category i fell into the content weightage was set as under:

a) General = 40% (of total marks)
Verbal reasoning = 10 questions or 10% of 100
Analytical reasoning= 20 questions or 20 % of 20
climatology, climate change/Global warming= 10 questions or 10% of 100

b) Climatology and Environment = 60% (of total marks)
climatology = 5.0
environmental meteorology = 7.5
thermodynamics and statistical mechanics = 7.5
classical mechanics = 5.0
quantum mechanics = 5.0
waves and oscillations = 5.0
computational physics = 10
applied/environmental chemistry = 12.5
health and environment = 5.0
fuels and combustion = 5.0
chemical process design and simulation = 5.0
elementary mathematics = 7.5
probability = 5.0
Regression analysis and correlation = 5.0

For scientific officer environment and climatology 273 candidates appeared in total from all over the country. My test center was at st patricks college karachi, 78 candidates were supposed to be there at maximum according to the candidates list and number of blocks. The result was declared on 3rd of May, no one could score in 80s, maximum score was 78 in our category, i got 66, maximum in Sindh rural. After one month since the result declaration date, when GCISC was contacted and inquired about the interviews i was told that the board had not met so far and interviews would be conducted after Eid (it was round the corner then). When they were again contacted after Eid they had something different and somewhat surprising to tell. The center was not satisfied with the written test result, they were of the view that their organization was a research body they couldn't appoint the students having score in 50s etc they needed the score to be in 80s thus they had decided to re conduct the written test. They even told us that they were ready to re conduct the test 100 times until the score be in 80s.
That result can still be seen :

Useful information! That means they didn't select anyone? Wow! Considering that they assigned a 40% weight to the analytical portion this time, they can't expect people to score in the 80s (especially within a 2-hour timeframe). Anything above 60 should be a good score, what do you say?

rightly estimated, I second you. It took me 30 minutes to do the English portion, 45 minutes to solve the quantitative. I was expecting that the analytical portion would be equally divided between logical and analytical reasoning but seemingly the paper was deliberately set in such a pattern that might consume as much time as it could. Out of 40 from analytical portion there were not more than 5 questions from logical reasoning the rest was mind numbingly tedious analytical reasoning. I don't think that the majority would score in 80s, by keeping the time consuming pattern of the test it may well be concluded that highest would be in 70s, more than 60 should be considered a good score.
