Dear its not time to discuss the matter of merit or reference believe in God and work hard at your best, i have many of my friends in PPL which were recruited without any reference. And beleive me most of the selection will be on merit

dear this is pakistan.so it it is not expected that jobs will be given on 100
% merit.many people say that they have got job on merit but when inquiry is done it is found that they have got job on source or bribe.but believe in ALLAH and try as hard as u can.

Well if you are applying for General program for all Pakistan then you are not eligible but if you are applying for on-job Special Training Scheme for Underdeveloped Areas of Balochistan then PPL’s standard criteria for trainees, requiring candidates to have a first or high second division (57 percent and above) throughout their academic career and be between 22 and 27 years of age, has been waived as special consideration.

PPL has also announced two year On--job Special Training Scheme separately for candidates belonging to underdeveloped areas of Balochistan, including Sui, District Dera Bugti and who are domiciled residents of Balochistan, besides Quetta.

There is no mention of 'Mining technology' in the advertisement. Does it mean it is excluded from the Recruitment or Mining Tech come under the discipline of Geosciences?

What is the total score of GAT A Test? Can anybody please elaborate the method to calculate percentile? Is percentile & percentage the same thing? For example, If a person has got 83 percentile then what would be his/her score?

we have to score 60% marks in GAT A paper or 60 numbers to qualify for the interview . whats the method to obtain percentage

GAT Test A is of 100 marks.
English 50
Maths 25
Analytical 25

You are required to take as much as marks out of 100 so that can be called for interview, percentile is of no worth as the merit will be prepared on the basis of GAT Marks.

Percentile and Percent is not the same thing. Percentile is calculated by NTS on the basis of the each question attempted by how many candidates and how many candidates correctly attempted and some other factors.
You are right but this distribution which you mentioned is valid for GAT B Test! Paper distribution for GAT A is:
English 30 marks
Analytical 40 marks
Quantitative 30 marks
