Seats are rumoured to be around 300. Not confirm though. Around 50% will be for engineers and the remaining 50% for all others. There is no province-wise quota.

@AHKK
Can you please tell us about gross pay, other benefits and satisfaction about job as it would be really helpful for job holders like me to appear in test or not. I would be thankful for this.

SNGPL follows 'OG' payscale for executives with grades from 1 to 10. Engineers are recruited into grade 2 while non-engineers are rectuited to grade 1. In case of experience of around 3 years or so or if the candidate is earning substantially higher amount from previous employers, engineers may be given grade 3 and non-engineers may be given grade 2. However, this is not hard and fast rule. The gross pay of grade 1 is around 32k, grade 2 around 38k and grade 3 around 45k. However, some people may be offered a higher basic pay while keeping them in the same scale if they are earning a higher pay from previous employer. A person I know, for example, is not an engineer and is in grade 2 but he is getting a package of around 48k. To sum it up, if you are fresh or have less experience, you will go into grade 2 if you are an engineer and grade 1 if you are not an engineer.

Dear thanks for your kind reply. What is increment status in SNGPL and future prospects for engineers ?

gross pay includes everything? there is no medical or other allowances? apart from salary? also what is the roster? (how many on and off days)

for the sake of comparison, i am working in a pvt company and getting 45k gross salary. so is it a good idea to try and join sngpl? If it really is 38k all in all then i think salary is quite low compared to the type of job

I am new to this forum. I need some sincere information from members:

I am Telecommunication Engineer and applied to IT/MIS Officer.

I want to know what kind of test for IT/MIS Officer means what type of questions in Field related portion which is 40% and other questions in different portions (Quantitative, Analytically, General Knowledge, Company business and English) in test ?

Any helping material for preparing the test for getting higher marks in test?

Any previous test available?

Increments are not very high in initial years. After first year, it's around 7k. But after 3,4 years you get very good increments. Engineers get promoted to grade 3 after one year, while after 2 years in grade 3, they are eligible for promotion to grade 4, depending on their performance. The issue is that engineers very often get posted to non-technical departments. Even in the remaining departments, there are a very few ones that are actually good for technical learning.

Medical facility is free, without any limit. For you, your parents and also your wife and children if you are married. Saturday and Sunday are off. I think if you are getting 45 then it won't be a bad idea to switch. In SNGPL, you will have job security, work burden is not very high, and you are entitled a good number of holidays. Plus SNGPL executives still have a good social status.

@AHKK
Your posts motivated me to appear in the test dear.
Would you please tell us about postings, Sngpl posted engineers to native areas or any place in punjab kpk or AJK ? Mean a person belongs to rawalpindi could be posted in Rahim yar khan or Karak or only nearly areas of rawalpindi ?
