In METU we submitted GAT score for GRE and they have accepted it as GRE substitute.
We did't pay $65 application fees as it is exempted for HEC scholars.
I only applied for GGIT in Bilkent.
I didn't discuss with the supervisor.

P.S. Istanbul Technical University didn't accept GAT for GRE so I didn't apply in ITU. Each university have its own requirements.

Can one apply in more than one field?and with a background in bioinformatics can i apply in geodetics,do they accept at METU or Bilkent.I want to apply in more than one and in GIS too as i have a bit of software background.
Also do I apply on my own after getting a mail from HEC for being short listed or there will be a new mail for call of admission.I don't know how to put GAT in place of GRE score?Should i send application by post or mail only?
Will HEC guide in filling forms etc?
Where do i mention i m HEC scholar in the application so as not to pay $65?
Sorry for so many questions but really don't know what to do so asking!

1. I think you can only apply for one field in METU, but the Intended Area of Research could be 3.
2. I am not sure but you may be eligible for GGIT (Geodetic & Geographic Information Technologies) in METU. As people from Computer Science, Electronics, Geography etc can enroll in MS GGIT, so people from bioinformatics may be accepted as well.
3. You can apply by your own after you are shortlisted.
4. In METU online application put a dummy/fake GRE score.
5. For METU, you will first apply online and then take print of that application and send it with other documents by post.
6. In Online application you have to mention "Source of Financial Support", mention HEC Pakistan's fully funded scholarship.
Don't worry after you mention HEC scholar in application, they won't reject your application if you haven't paid $65.

I hope it is helpful.

P.S. There are good departments of Bioinformatics in METU and Bilkent. Select your field of study wisely.

yes British council staff was very good and cooperative-The speaking module was conducted on 18th and Written/listening on 2oth.Examiner asked me about myself, then about photography,Should computers replace teachers, and asked me to speak on some occassion i had attended(i told about a workshop)...very simple...
In listening it was a bit fast to grasp, but not too tough-questions about furniture sale, orientation etc...
In reading article about sculptures and talcum powder came.In writing a pie chart comparison was given (change of time spending in average american office wrt meetings, email, writing etc) and the essay was about the negative effects of advertisements...
Don't worry, download podcasts from british council website for listening and other modules-Its not tough-U ll get 6.5(required) easily.IA
