Dear Noor Ahmed,
HEC allocate you the choice of your first preference if your Qualification is ok with that university/country. So do not worry about this. Yes its also good suggestion to wait for shortlisting. As about 10,000 applicants apply and HEC shortlist no more than 500 applicants. So Chances for Shortlisting are less. Yes if shortlisted that at the time of interview anyone can change the proposal according to the available faculty in that university.

thats what I am saying, why we are worried at the very early stage. I am position holder in MBA, in Bachelors I have got 79.35 percentage, 1st division matric and inter. will hec allocate me my 1st preference? I should have to place METU at 1st but I placed Bilkent

HEC do not care about your position. HEC will give first preference to the candidate. If he is shortlisted and his preference is according with qualification. HEC change the preference of those who has selected wrong place. Like if a person who has 16 Year Education and select China, Germany, Austria or France than HEC will place him at other place. Otherwise he will give it first choice. Your GAT score is the only thing that play role in Shortlisting. Next Phase in Interview your positions will be helpful.

will they provide any flexibility in changing the specific area of research? for example I have written area of research Human Resource Management and after shortlisting I want to change my specific area from HRM to operations management or Finance.

will they ask any question regarding my past specialization which is in Finance and proposed area of specialization in interview? if they are change, will it create problem for me?

My GAT score is 65 and percentile is 94.16. I am from Sindh Rural, last year merit cut off for Sindh Rural in Business Education was 54.

how will GAT score effect selection? is shortlisting done on the basis of GAT score? mine is 73 but I am confused about Research Proposal.
