this is what you are saying that it is solely depends on GAT score. Once, I asked from HEC official he said we can't disclose it. So we can't say it surely. My CGPA is 2.37 and GAT score is 75 Punjab domicile in Physical sciences.If somehow I would shortlisted then in which university I ll seek admission as minimum criteria of well reputed universities is CGPA 2.5,this is also an issue. This is what I think, anyhow seniors can guide you in better way.

Usually HEC took 3-4 months for short listing as tens of thousands applications are received by HEC. Keep in mind earlier days of December for expected Provisional result.

Default HEC indigenous scholarship
Applications received against the Advertisement dated " 21-July, 2013" are in process of scrutiny , HEC will update the successful applicants after final decision of National scholarship management committee (NSMC).

i m bit confused about last years merit (GAT-general) cut off for social sciences as one of my friends told me that it was around 72 but on hec website it is 82.. please make me clear on this..

i hav receieved a letter two days before that i have been selected for Indegeneous scholarship for the year 2012-2013 in 2nd merit list.
i could not take admission in 2012 as i was not sure about availibility of this scholarship.
now what shoud i do?
if i take admission this year then can i avail this opportunity???

Recently hec has uploaded second merit cut off point for applicants selected in category "b" against the advertisement (july 2012)..

Isnt it too late as the candidates may have planned something else ??

In 2nd list, merit cut off for social sciences has reduced from 82 to 71...
please comment !!

Thats right what you heard. Also they have a so called 'Academic Evaluation Formula' http://www.hec.gov.pk/InsideHEC/Divi...hase%20II.aspxby which they severely limit the chances of sub 2.5 GPA getting a scholarship regardless of your score in GAT unless its 90+ (I guess).

You should check NUST for admission as they don't have a GPA cutoff for eligibility and admission is 50% GAT 25% interview and 25% GPA. I know only about engineering though.
