I think the question was like, if a certain work is done by some men in 60 days and if ten more men are used, it can be done in 50 days then what is the number of men that worked (aint sure if we were asked to calculate no. of men doing work in 50 days or no. of men doing it in 60 days but I guess here is how it goes:

Men↑ Days↓

Let initial number of men be x and fill these two columns

Men Days
x 60
10+x 50

Multiply x with 60, and 10+x with 50

60x = 50 (10+x)
60x = 500+ 50x
10x = 500
x= 50 ( no. of men doing work in 60 days)

50+10= 60 (no. of men working in 50 days)

Its a question related to inverse proportion (as indicated by the two arrow heads pointing in opposite direction). Since the two factors here are inversally proportional so I multiplied quantities in two columns in this way (I mean straight/ head-on). Had the two factors been directly proportional, I would have cross-multiplied the terms in two columns. I hope it makes sense.

PS: Since I am not a mathematics pundit so it would be nice to if somene could confirm it.

Regards to all the seniors and everyone who are willing to apply for the Cultural Exchange Scholarship program for year 2014. I wish to take this test too, for that many like me wish to know about everything regarding the test. NTS has mentioned Only the GAT-Subject, i did little work and come to know about the details and course contents of different Disciplines. They are rather more confusing. I am Electrical Engineer and wish to apply for Masters in my respective field, the test contents mentioned only Engineering. So i wish to know that, the test will cover all the fields of Engineering or will it be of specific fields i.e. Electrical, mechanical civil etc.?? Kindly any of the senior who had experience of this test, help me and fellows like me who are having confusions.. We all shall be very thankful...

Test was easy but too much lengthy as the IQ section contains paragraphs that requires time to read and then to make the analysis of the question. time is very short.

Maths portion & English portion is OK but IQ is the real decision maker in the end.

Hoping for the best to come.

Time Consuming Factors:
1. Paragraph reading for the IQ Analysis
2. Fill the circle completely also took time.

around 25 questions are filled in 1 minute when the invigilator said "STOP WRITING"

AT THE END ITS TOTAL LUCK NOW

CAN ANYONE HERE INFORM US ALL THAT WHAT SHOULD BE DONE AFTER THE RESULTS.

How someone knows that he/she are selected.

what is the next step to do.??

What if someone is selected then??

Experienced persons please reply.

Default What to Expect after the Test

Now that test is over, the hard part begins.

First, after answer keys are issued, the NTS will give people chance to review their scores if the answer sheets that candidates have is not in line with the score posted by NTS. Once, this is over, Ministry of Interprovincial coordination (MoIPC) receives the score from NTS and makes a list based on scores.

Second, people will start calling them and they will tell them if there are any realistic chances for them to get scholarship. They will also tell them their ranking. Traditionally, 90 plus is a good score for Punjab and Sindh while 85 plus is good for other areas. Last year, open merit cut-off was 90, if I am not mistaken. 85 was merit for Balochistan. I have no idea about other cut-offs.

Third, of the countries mentioned in the advertisement, some will offer scholarship. NOTE: only UK has been offering scholarship for the last few years, so I guess that might also be the same pattern for this year. On average, there are 30-35 candidates that go to the next round to UK Commonwealth commission. Ideally, top 35 scorers should go, but the reserved seat for provinces and areas/minorities may not guarantee all the top scorers to get a call from MoIPC.

Fourth, Ministry is probably going to contact the successful candidates sometime in end October to require them the documents (5 sets of unattested photocopies and IELTS scores). They will give two weeks probably to submit them. So, be prepared for IELTS if you have good score. Also, they will provide a link where electronic application will be filled and printed. Filled application goes directly to UK and the print copy will be for Ministry. Reference letters will have to submitted electronically through email (for UK) and with print copies (for MoIPC).

Fifth, the candidates from pakistan compete with the other commonwealth countries in the world and eventually only 1/3rd get final offers, that is about 10-13. It is good to have an admission letter from the choice of school that we have mentioned in the application because by the time we get to that time most of the schools have already accepted their pools of candidates.

Finally, the stamp papers will be submitted and someone will be assigned to assist you for visa etc etc.

Long process and very painful. Get ready, if you have the nerves. But make other plans as well because it is very easy to loose one deadline/requirement and get ....ed.

I hope its all clear; any confusion?
