Dears,

A friend is asking here. What does backward areas mean in the initial advertisement of the PMS exam?

Is it just FATA or other districts included? Please reply.

Backward areas include:

Zone-1, i.e Agencies of bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, North Waziristan, South Waziristan and Frontier Regions attached to the Districts of Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu and Dera ismail Khan.

Some Useful information (Updated):

Pass candidates = 1169
Overall total seats = 47

PMS total seats 37 (both for male and female)
4 reserved seats for women
3 excise and taxation officer (ETO) seats (1 for merit, 1 each for zone 4 and 5)
and 3 for disabled persons

Zone 1 male are Fighting and eligible for 9 pms merit + 1 ETO merit + 6 zone seats = 16 seats
Zone 1 female are fighting and eligible for 9 pms merit + 1 ETO merit + 6 zone seats + 4 women reserved seats = 20 seats

Zone 2 male are Fighting and eligible for 9 pms merit + 1 ETO merit + 6 zone seats = 16 seats
Zone 2 female are fighting and eligible for 9 pms merit + 1 ETO merit + 6 zone seats + 4 women reserved seats = 20 seats

Zone 3 male are Fighting and eligible for 9 pms merit + 1 ETO merit + 6 zone seats = 16 seats
Zone 3 female are fighting and eligible for 9 pms merit + 1 ETO merit + 6 zone seats + 4 women reserved seats = 20 seats

Zone-3:- Districts of Swat, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Chitral, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan, and Malakand Protected Areas (Swat Ranizai and Sam Ranizai), backward areas of Haripur, Mansehra and Swabi Districts; i.e. Kala Dhaka Area, Upper Tanawal Area, Gadoon Area, Backward areas of Haripur District i.e., Kalanjar Field Kanungo Circle of Tehsil Haripur and Amazai Field Kanungo Circle of Tehsil Ghazi.

Zone-4:- Districts of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat and Karak.

Zone-5:- Districts of Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra excluding their backward areas included in Zone-3

Thank you brother. Always useful information. Am i correct in assuming that 2 years of age relaxation is given to aspirants from these areas? Or is it three years?
