Default Wealth does not pass three generations.

Its a Chinese saying. I have been contemplating it since one hour but failed to arrive any conclusion.

Is it True or False? Your Comments.

Meaning: It's rare the wealth of a family can last for three generations (the 2nd may see the value of hard work, the 3rd, forget it).
Year zero: First generation: Wealth creation
Year 45: Second generation: Wealth preservation
Year 75: Third generation: Wealth destruction

It is true in mostly cases.
We often hear that the person's forefathers were tycoons, and they lived like kings. But now their children own small business.

generally it is true.

first generation makes.second enjoys and the third one gives away..i think our mughal rulers just before britain dominance were of third generation.lol

there are two types of people who can go abroad.

1.student(ones with brains)
2.rich(ones with money)

ever wonder why?

just because of this chineese proverb.because they(the westerners) know one generation makes and the third one breaks.and to protect and maintain their superiority over the world they take away all our working force and money as their coming generations(the youth) may not be able to maintain their status.

another similar thing is that if you have wealth in your family for consecutive two generations then the third one will surely be a lazy one...perhaps this is why the third generation loses everything earned by their forefathers according to the chineese saying.

This saying relates not just to monetary wealth, but also towards family fortunes –power and influence– which also includes the rise and decline of monarchs and dynasties.

Lets consider Bhutto dynasty,
ZAB,
BIBI and
It will probably last here, over before Bilawal with the courtesy of Zardari.

In my opinion it means to preach against storing.

Scholarly people are now questioning the idea of wealth accumulation.
"In many developed countries, the gap between the wealthiest individuals and everyone else is steadily growing. In the United States, hedge fund kings and queens, CEOs of large companies, and celebrities make amounts of money that would have been inconceivable even fifty years ago.
Recognizing that people relish competition, I've proposed that individuals be allowed to make as much money as possible but that they'd have to give to philanthropy any amount that is more than one hundred times as great as that average income-so, in the contemporary US, anything above four million dollars per annum. An individual could earn one billion, but would have to contribute the vast bulk (996 million) to charitable causes."

Harvard Professor, Howard Garner

Religious Scriptures also propagate the idea of giving away 'the extra'.
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Mathew 6:26
"O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth." Al Baqarah, 2:267

Meager chances, ranging from thin to zero. In current scenario Zardari sahib is all in all of the party. In future setup Bilawal will hold the key as wished by the BB. As you pointed about Asifa that she will step in politics too. Then be prepared for another BB- Murtaza episode and that will be a final blow.

Disagreed. We will distract from topic if I respond your post.

So lets back to Chinese Proverb.
