fayyaz ahmed sumbal was an energetic and intelligent young police officer. he served at different places in the country in various capacities. i have also come to know that he was a css topper from balouchistan. he proved this thoughout his career from the fact that by dint his abilities, committment, dedication and hardwordk soon became DIG.

I think it is high time for our royal government to plot at least a strategy against terrorism- a strategy yet to be formed since three months. People gave a resonable mandate to this government and what a gift bestowed upon us now in the form of blasts-nearly 30 plus blasts have occured country wide since the new goverment assumed office. Shameful laziness, agree?? is being shown. Actually, our politicians are highly incompetent and most of them belong to elite class, who are either themselves underground Don or at least support such elements; therefore, they have probably no soft corner for ordinary people of Pakistan. Fayyaz Sumbal, sorry, we forget, after all he was not a son of a powerful politician or PM/CM/COAS, sorry but I'm forced to say! So by gone are the moments he and others were killed. So lets forget it and, come'on hurry up, come to capital to join rulers' Eid party this evening. After all this is their first Eid since long, thankfully they are already back in home to celebrate Eid among their own people, they deserve to have a 'EID Party'; and innocent Pak people, include its defenders now too in the list, of motherland deserve to mourn at their fate. But how long???

I knew sir Sumbal when he was PSO to IGP/Punjab during the tenure of IG Punjab Haji Habib ur Rehman.
Mr. Sumbal was one of the most talented intellectual officer of PSP Cadre. His posting chart till his Shahadat remained as follows upto the extent of my memory and knowledge:-
Former DPO Chiniot Punjab
Former PSO to IGP Punjab
Former DIG Investigation Balochistan
DIG Operation Quetta (embraced martyrdom)

He was transferred from Punjab to Balochistan on the directions of the previous Govt. During his posting in Central Police Office, Punjab, he did many works of welfare for Punjab Police employees. He was kind hearted officer and the loss which has been suffered not only by Police department but also by the nation can never be covered.
May his soul rest in peace.

He is of 26th common, he was an engineer by profession, Fayyaz Ahmad Sumbal is the uncle of my cousin Salman Nadeem, who is also the member of this forum.

A friend of mine from Chiniot told me that Mr. Fayaz remained DPO in his district and he was known for his competence, intellect , honesty and dutifulness. May his soul rest in peace and May our homeland get free from the vicious circle of extremism and terror. These terrorists should listen loud and clear , "We cant be prevailed upon neither our courage can be decreased. We all are Fayaz Sumbal. We all are the son of this Land Of Pure. We would purge this land of your dirt . we would keep fighting against you until we root you out."
