Anokhi waza hai saare zamaane se niraale hain,
ye aashiq kaun si basti ke yaa rab rehne waale hain.

Ilaaj-e-dard mein bhi dard ki lazzat pe marta hun,
jo the chaalon mein kaante nok-e-sozan se nikaale hain.

Phalaa-phoola rahe yaa rab chaman meri umeedon ka,
jigar ka khoon de de kar ye boote hum ne paale hain.

Rulaati hai mujhe raaton ko khaamoshi sitaaron ki,
niraala ishq hai mera niraale mere naale hain.

Na poochho mujh se lazzat khaanamaan-barbaad rehne ki,
nasheman sainkadon maine bana kar phoonk daale hain.

Umeed-e-hoor ne sab kuchh seekha rakha hai waaiz ko,
ye hazrat dekhne mein seedhe-saadhe bhole-bhaale hain.

Mere ashaar aey ‘iqbal’ kyon pyaare na hon mujh ko,
mere toote hue dil ke ye dard-angez naale hain. !!
