uThe aur kuuchaa-e-mahabuub men pahuNche aashiq
ye musaafir nahiin raaste men Thaharane vaale

jaan dene kaa kahaa main ne to haNs kar bole
tum salaamat raho har roz ke marane vaale

aasmaaN pe jo sitaare nazar aaye 'Ameer'
yaad aaye mujhe daaG apane ubharane vaale
