I appeared for preventive officer interview yestrday at karachi..the panel was so aggresive regardingly people who possess a higher qualification than required..they kept on insisting that if i am pursuing another qualification ,i should continue with that. I wonder if this is the case then why they had not restricted it in advertisement like the state bank does. And i believe there should be a new field of study for preventive officer because the interview panel dont want candidates who are postgraduate or above

Bhool hy ap ki. .. Panel has no concern with your education. High degree holders are always preferred.

As per the panel people who are pursuing postgrdauation or any other certification are over qualified and should not be applying for govt jobs. I was thinking whether i had done somethng wrong by studying a higher degree than required or by applying for this job..the attitude of fpsc members was very annoying because i didnt go to them for career counselling. If i havent completed my other certification then cant i search for job??panel was continously forcing me that i accept that i shouldnt have applied for the preventive officer. I forgot to ask them that if i shouldnt have been there then why they allow doctors, lawyers , engineers etc to be ambassadors or income tax commissioners through CSS route???

exactly! imo the panel is certainly under-qualified to even hold such interviews. majority of the members are old school with a typical mindset of the late 70s or 80s. the css used to be a gazillion times less competitive in their period. essentially this makes the retired bureaucrats from that era very outdated. harsh but thats the truth. from o levels to masters my education is from foreign oriented. a panel member advised me to go for css. i thought what do they know! huh! failed two times in a row just because i am not good at english for them, apparently. thereafter i started applying for other jobs too. in reply i got, 'beta ap phir mehnat nae na karty ho ge'. in my heart i was like, what do you know sir k me ne kitni mehnet ke aur kitni kurbaani de, what do you know! only a person who has gone though the process may truly comprehend my position. so brother rathore relax! whatever happens just know in your heart that whatever these people make out of our futures doesn't necessarily measure for our skills. keep going! somewhere in time we will reach our destination when the time is right.

this is not a bragging race over one's educational accomplishments. two individuals shared a similar experience which i think is quite unfair. as for you sir, a pat on the back always feel good does't it!
