And the fouth thing is GK or CA portion . Sometime , the basic knowledge about the organization for which the test is being taken is also tested in NTS MCQs. Like for the test of State Bank job , in GK portion there were some 10-15 MCQs regarding the working of state Bank. However , I guess the basic info about MOD and its working would not be sought in this test . I have observed their tests for state Bank , SNGPL, LDA and NAB and always the pattern has remained more or less the same. Therefore, until the NTs does not reveal the paper pattern , it would be quite safe and effecytive to start work on the Ares, I have specified.

What about Islamiat & Pakistan Studies ? In IB test for AD, large portion of MCQs were comprised of Islamiat and Pak Studies but that was conducted by FPSC.

Default Test Pattern

As far as studying material is concern, lot depend which is going to be the testing authority. If Ministry of Defence takes test then I can safely assume that test pattern will be same as adopted last time. (mentioned in the very first post of this thread) for which one book of GK of any good pblisher, be it CARVAAN OR DOGARS will be suffice or at most one can have both. On the other hand if NTS is gonna be the testing authority, then nature of test will be more NTS specific which generally but not only includes:

English vocab, comprehension, grammer
maths
Analytics reasong
GK
Computer/ IT skills.

Ther are contradictory news regarding testing organization. One of members posted that Minnistry will take test. Today on contacting NTS, their repreentitive told NTS will take test. So still confusion exists. One clue regarding test taking authority could be that NTS charges Rs 800-900 for such jobs but here it is well below. I think candidates should wait and frequently visit websites of both organizations frequently.

Will keep you updated if anything worh-telling.

As NTS has to conduct the test, Most probably it will consist of Eng, Analytical, Quantitative and GK...If above pattern is there, following Books will be helpful...

1. GRE BOOK BY BARON'S for Eng and Maths
2. Carvan"s aptitude for GK
3. JWT Magazine for CA etc

Guys, be patient. Sajid is right and i wholly agree with him. In addition to his explanation, i would like to state that the defence ministry might have run out of money that is why they have asked the "MONEY-MINTING Institution (i mean the NTS) to conduct the test. Moreover, among thousands of candidates only a handful ones will be selected and the process will last for more than 2 to 3 years. So our erudite suggestion to all the aspirant is to sit at home, prepare for some trusted test.
