Apologies for replying late...

Harshyy is right
Panel members were 4, very friendly, they only asked about the things u already have experienced, in economics they only asked me about THE FUNCTIONS OF A CENTRAL BANK ... Job Nature is TELLER as they said it would be a counter job, be calm give straight answers ... don't be too nervous ... number of positions are not told by ANY1 ... I did ask a couple of personnel there, but they said it is confidential.

GOOD LUCK to all Lahore and Islamabad candidates....!!!

I think some guy had 78... Haven't heard of anything beyond that.

Samku Thursday, February 14, 2013 05:09 PM

Well they asked nothing for which one should panic...panel of 4..extremely friendly..they ask about your past experience if any...as i passed my mba in 2011 so they askd k why r u still jobless and to some extent caught me in the question but later they were satisfied..a guy asked questions relating to IRR ( as i had finance as my major) and another asked about dealing customers in a rush situation..about job nature they told k its a counter job..we will be handling cash..cut and soiled notes or may b prize bonds....it was very easy...but annoying that for a counter job they had such a difficult process:mad:

drinkingeyez Thursday, February 14, 2013 06:21 PM

Well.... still everybody is saying that interview is simpel and panel is friendly so far..... but how the selection will be made is this way ? and what about weightage of interview performance ? anybody have an idea ?
and any body tell that how many candidates were there in Islamabad ???????

Dear, I am not sure of the department, but i don't think the Interview panel will ask such a question. Obviously, I will take whatever SBP gives us. I appeared for both YPIP and Junior Officers, to be honest I think the difficulty level of both the tests was same. I am deeply disappointed in myself too, should have studied harder for YPIP and should have appeared for SBOTS. Well, I can't bring back time now. But a counter job is not what i had in mind. :( :(

Currency notes and coins are printed and minted at Pakistan Mint. Its located at Shalamar Lahore, I believe. However even it you don't know that that should not be much of a problem.

They don't need that level of intellect for a person based on counter exactly how many a times are customers going to turn up and ask for Pakistan mint?

Nothing to be disappointed about. I myself missed out on SBOTS and YPIP. I had OG2 in my mind during my graduation. But I don't thing this is the end of the world. keep your head high, its good if we start low, we would know how things work out.

Keep searching for better opportunities just don't stay idle. Get SBP on your CV and God knows better what he has for us in the bag.

Here is how the interview went... Met Tweet!

A panel of four very polite people took the interview. They asked me about the Job description, which I sincerely had no idea, then they carried on explaining. They told me about the horrible job I was about to sign in for. They asked me about my aspirations and how this job fits into that.

Plus they asked three qualities of mine. Then they told me about the three important factors for motivation. Money, environment and jd. They asked which one inspires you the most.

They asked me as to how I would be able to continue with my studies along with the job.

One of the panel member never questioned me. At the end they asked me if I had applied for any other position like YPIP and SBOT... Why did I not apply for those positions.

In a nut shell it was good it ended in about 10 minutes.

asaqib Friday, February 15, 2013 03:08 PM

I was a list with 38 candidates.

drinkingeyez Friday, February 15, 2013 06:48 PM

Interview was quite simple....hardly 5 minuts :-(
just asked would you able to do customer dealing job why are you interested in it ? in other words just tried to dissapoint me from all aspects regardint this job :-P
Moreover guys....there were 100 candidates total from all across the pakistan who appeared in interview...and maximum interviews were held here in Lahore of 38 Candiates...its mean in Karachi and Islamabad candidates where less than 38. Moreover ..its still not certain that what are the number of positions. Initial contract is for 2 years and interview panel clearly stated its not sure what would be future after 2 years

Lets hope for best :-)
Allah sb k lye behtar karen :-)

Hi friends, sorry for the late Description of my experience in Islamabad due to net connection problems.

It was a nice today and almost all of the candidates must be satisfied with their interviews as it was easy and general interview. There were 24 candidates shortlisted at Islamabad centre of which 9 were girls. Panel consisted of 4 members, all of which were friendly and cooperative, except the Chairman (who in my case didn’t get any of my point and every time gave of feeling of disagreement). No one of the SBP employee was ready to share the total number of seats. However, it is confirmed that it is Teller and Counter level job.
Now, I come to my interview that continued for about 20 minutes.
Q.1 Why did you choose Islamabad as centre and why not Karachi? (as I belong to Distt: Khairpur, Sindh)---- I simply quoted my previous job, css attempts and my cousins stay at Islamabad as resons
Q.2 Why you left your previous job?
Q.3 Why you prefer public sector to private sector?
Q.4 How did you not qualify css and then they discussed with me the essay which I wrote in my last attempt in quite detail.
Q.5 What is SBP-BSC?
Q.6 What are prize Bond? (Q.5 & Q.6 were asked by another member sitting besides chairman. These were the only economics questions they asked)
Q.7 (They quoted my teaching experience and asked) Would you not think you can better serve as teacher in Sindh than just sitting on a counter here and dealing with public? (This question perturbed me for some moments but I finally gave some reply in defense of job at SBP.)
Q.8 How do you find suitable for job as your NTS score is also not that much good(just passing 70)?
Q.9 What do you know about the post of Junior Officer?
These are most of the questions which were asked from me and I could remember. I must say they won’t let candidates to be confused. Overall, it was a nice experience.

jameel ahmed soomro Friday, February 15, 2013 09:18 PM

Two things are not going well with all those who appeared for JO Interviews. One, Counter job. Two, Contractual nature of job.

Total 94 candidates appeared for the interview. 32 from Karachi, 24 from Islamabad and 38 from Lahore.
as you remember recently a MAP or MAAP (whatever that is) program was conducted in which graduate students from universities were picked to work at SBP-BSC regional offices. these students are currently working as OG-2's. one of my friend and few acquaintances have also been selected in the aforementioned program. my source is that friend working over there, and main purpose of stating the preamble was that the cadre OG-2 is currently not that much in need of further officers. the students who are working right now working are bound by a part contract part internship agreement, as they can leave their jobs on a week notice and total duration of their tenure is 2 years. they are not bound by any agreement to stay at SBP for the entire period.

now what i further got to know was that the position or nature of our jobs will be decided by head office. but keeping in mind the recent admission of ypips i do not think there would be much room left in the OG-2 category, while they are inducting a great number of JO's.

So as i said i am not cent percent sure what would be the nature of jobs if selected, but it would be wise not to raise our hopes too high. personally i myself am a bit taken aback by what i got to know and not that much excited for this job anymore if selected. but what options do we have in such a job market, does it really matter what one thinks or feels?
MAAP are not OG-2 level, they r OG-1 level.

i think if the recruitment test is conducted through NTS, and about 8 to 9 thousands candidates are going to appear in the test...then the number of seats shouldn't be less than 50...
