Well if u are opting Pol Science then u can also take Constitutional law which is very much related to Pol Science. Then sociology is also another good subject in terms of score and is much easy to study. International Relations is also another option u can take it will help u in current affairs paper. Then any regional language u can take. English literature is also good option for you, you can have it

If you appearing in Annual exam then you need 60% marks to get 1st class and more than 45% marks to get 2nd class.

If you are appearing in semester system then you must secure more than 2.0 to 2.5 C.G.P.A out of 4.0 .5 to secure 2nd class. above 2.5 CGPA its 1st class. This is generally accepted figure, but this may vary frm institute to institute.

@sir Shallowwater..

once again i 'll like to mention "Thanks alot for Being such great help sir!"

I have done BS(hons) in Biochem...I am an aspirant for CE2013 n i haven't started my preparation yet...
1-I need your kind advice and suggestion for choosing my optional subjects.
2-Is it necessary to join any academy for preparation of CSS can't anyone do it on his/her own?
Anxiously waiting for your reply sir because i have to start from a scratch...

dear as u have asked this question from shalow water, so others were reluctant to reply. however, as u again said not any reply yet, so i thought it pertinent to given my point of view.

first dont be perturbed about optional subjects. first give a few months to the compulsories. let have a grip on English language and current affairs. then go for opting optionals. since optionals wont take much time. they can be prepared in two to three months.

secondly, no there is no need of any academy. u can prepare by your own. just get guidance from this forum. this is the best and biggest academy u will ever find in pakistan. if still u need any guidance then i have a friend in abbotabad.u can visit him for guidance. he is a nice guy and genious too.

regards
