Dear aspirants, I have just decided to appear in CE2018 and I know that the time remaining for exams in insufficient. I also know that at least 6 to 8 months are required for better preparation of CSS exams but I want to give it a try now. I have done LL.B (Hons) Shariah & Law from International Islamic University Islamabad back in 2013 and my LL.M Human Rights Law is in thesis phase. There is a bit confusion in selecting the best combination for CE2018. I have opted the following subjects:
Arabic (200 Marks)(It's a high scoring subject for me as my base is strong in it) International Law (100 Marks)(I have studied it in both LL.B (Hons) and LL.M) Muslim Law & Jurisprudence (100 Marks)(Same situation as above subjects) In short, I have selected subjects of 400 Marks out of total 600 Marks so selection of subjects of 200 Marks is remaining. Kindly help in selecting two more subjects from the following: Gender Studies (seems relevant to Human Rights Law) Sociology(seems easy but lengthy syllabus) History of USA (some well-wishers say that its history is very difficult) British History (it seems more interesting than US history to me) Islamic History (it is easy but low scoring and very lengthy syllabus to cover) Indo-Pak History(It is also easy but lengthy and low scoring) Political Science(I studied it in B.A but it's boring as well as difficult) |

Time is never short if you are motivated enough.
First of all, it looks like you do not understand how the optional subjects work. Arabic is 100 marks only, not 200. So you have 300 marks still unaccounted for. In addition to that, most of the subjects you have listed below aren't 200 marks either. So get the subjects list and see how you are allowed to opt them. |

I have seen the guidelines for CSS syllabus where it is clearly written in Note that International Law can not be opted with International Relations otherwise I would have opted IR with International Law.

@Mubashar This is the list you should be looking at: http://www.fpsc.gov.pk/icms/admin/fi...lic_Notice.pdf
What you are using now is the old subjects list. Since 2016, the rules have changed a bit. |

So the whole order is changed. Arabic marks are reduced to 100 from 200. Also, now I can't opt two subjects from one group i.e. International Law with Muslim Law & Jurisprudence. So kindly look into this combination and also help me in choosing two more subjects. Opted subjects are given as under: Arabic (100 Marks) International Law (100 Marks) International Relations (200 Marks) Now which two to select from following subjects? Gender Studies (100 Marks) US History (100 Marks) British History (100 Marks) Islamic History (100 Marks) Governance and Public Policies (100 Marks) |

As for no one helping you, you already have 400 marks covered and the remaining 200 have come down to your own opinion and aptitude. I have personally gone for US History. To me it seems neither confusing nor difficult. Did the topper and Prof. give you a reason or an example of the difficult and confusing nature of the subject? Or did they just say it in a general sense? |
