Sir thanks for your reply.
I have another query. I am a govt servant in BPS-17 in sindh govt. Is it possible for me to take leaves from my present job and then join CSA ( If i clear CSS, obviously). I do not want to resign from my present job ( I will ultimately do if i will like the environment of civil service, fear of unknown you know!!! ). And If i go through proper channel and resign from my present job, what salary will i be getting during CTP? Would it be same what i am getting right now, ( inclusive of all allowances) or i will be getting same like all other officers who would not be having any previous govt service experience? waiting for your reply

Chief Secretary is the Administrative head of the Province; he is second in command to Chief Minister...Secretary Home is the Administrative head of the "Home Department" and home department is a provincial department just like other departments like Finance, education, irrigation,Highway, Establishment/Services etc...Home department consists of different sections like in punjab it consists of General section, police section, judicial section,Prison section & Public safety section...Police (IG police) is one of te "attached department of Home department...home department in province is juat like Interior Ministry's role Federal govt...it deals all police matters, arms license, magistracy piwers, medals yo police officera, inquiries against police officera, promotions cases of provincial police officers, NOCs to foreigners, prison related issues and much more...it is a long list...for further information you can go to punjab govt website, there you can can find exact details.

Secretary Home works under Chief Secretary and IG works under the directions of both Chief Secretary and Home Secretary coz IG office is an attached deptt of Home Deptt

It depends on what post you are on right now that u'll like the Civil Service or not...moreover you can take "lien" from.ur previous deptt, it is for 2 years and if dun like civil aervice you can go back to your previous job.

About your salary, you will get the job with all ur increments...that would be more than other officers...but IF u come through proper channel...during CTP conveyance allowance and accomodation allowance are deducted from salary (in my days it used to be, not sure about nw)

In Common Wealth member countries the ambassador is called "High Commissioner" Like in UK Wajid Shamsul Hassan is High Commissioner and in US Sheren Rehman is ambassador..Counselate is a subsidary office to Main embassy in the same country...like Saudi embassy is in Islamabad bt there is a Saudi Couselate in Karachi as well...so tgat people dun hav to travel to Isb for application of visa...hope you have got the point

45000 seems like a respectable salary if that is what you get right after the stp and if its all in cash. You have been in the service for more than 5 years now, do you think that the kind of facilities you are getting and the salary you are receiving is enough to live a comfortable life( by comfortable I mean a decent life not a luxurious one). Because in my opinion css does not attract the brightest of the country anymore mostly because of the lack of monetary benefits that it provides. I know its not the primary consideration for someone attempting this exam but still you expect enough to feed your family provide them with good education(which btw isnt possible in the govt schools) and so on. Is all this affordable in what you earn.
