The fact of the matter is that approximately half (or even more) of the Pakistani population is female. Therefore we need women police officers to specifically deal with that segment of our society as per Islamic values and mores. When men start to address women related policing matters, bad things have known to occur in police stations. This is why I think that women should join the PSP if they desire to do so. Difficulties are there but these will reduce with the addition of more ladies in the PSP. Other respected members may differ.

I do agree with you Nauman.

First of all, i am of the impression that female candidates do not prefer PSP over DMG,FSP,CEG and ITG.

What if after so much of hardwork, they get allocation in PSP?

Do you people want them to leave PSP and appear in exam again for allocation in other groups?

Female candidates do not snatch PSP seats from male candidates.it is the merit/provincial quota/female quota which decides the allocation of females in a particular group.

@ Bilal Zamir.

I agree with your views. This is what i am trying to say that we need women police officers to deal with the female complainants. It is a common knowledge how male police officers can abuse female victims at the police station. Just because of this male hegemony the women dare not to go to the police stations. And that is the reason why most of the crimes against women go unreported. Male dominated police is a symbol of terror and not useful at all in dealing with females. If a poor women enters a police station she can only expect abuse and torture. Islam does not allow such victimization of half of the population. Ladies must come forward and join the ranks of PSP.

@ French.

PSP's do sit in their own offices at least. I mean women should be inducted both in the junior and senior ranks. Female victims can only get a relief if someone like them would be sitting in the office.

And nothing would happen to police department by the mixing of male and females. Mixing is taking place in every other department, nothing happened to them either. If you think female SP can be kidnapped or raped so easily then you just cant imagine the manpower at the disposal of an SP.

I think Mr. Nouman and SpiderMan had done a lot to save our time.

Try to understand the fact. No one is against women nor against their induction but PSP is not realy suitable for them is a bitter truth....

PSP is a masculine term,in fact. Its not the work of the Female segment to guard in society like ours. I think i have made my point.

I feel pity for women in our society who are not only disgraced by men but also belittled by their own gender (espically who haven't been able to achieve something themselves). They are struggling in every department to make their mark. The excuses used in most of the case: religion, family, customs, physical strength and the list never ends!!

My plea is : When will we change our attitudes? When will our society change? When will we start thinking to reform our society on new lines?

DMG, FSP, Army, Airforce, navy..... they are not being accepted with open-hearts anywhere. So what do you feel will happen in PSP? But they have to make inroads. This society will never accept them. They have to make their presence felt. Someone has to be a leader.....anyone can be ..... better to reign in hell than to follow in heaven

someone has said that women can't protect themselves, as if males can protect themselves. If male police is so efficient then the crimes should be zero in Pakistan. Training makes them perfect whether they are male or female.

@ French.
Women can't go to a police station because they are belittled and abused. You are only giving absurd arguments. Bring any solid argument. Women are not weak at all.

@ rishzzz

It is a pity that you are in favor of status quo. Women will have to rise in order to get their due rights in this society. Mixing of male and female is not a issue, these are just lame excuses.

@ statue of liberty.

Those women who are afraid of making sacrifices are not required in Police, but those who are brave enough they must join the ranks. I know their is no dearth of such brave and courageous women in Pakistan.

If the in-depth explainations of Mr. Nouman and Spiderman have not affected you, then how can i make any mark on you. You have made your own shell which is unbreakable on your part and you're not ready to listen anything. Inspite of the fact i didnt find any of your arguments strong enough to convince us.
I bet even majority of women will not agree to your ideas. You will not think practically then its extremely useless to furnish any such justifications.
