@555
I would like to say that don't be too pedantic. There is no hard and fast standard and what is in use by majority (here majority means elite writers) is the standard. However, following links would satisfy you regarding your query for standard. One is the authentic grammar book; other is the famous English writer; and the last one is the Columbia Encyclopedia. I hope you would be convinced now:
The King’s English, 2nd ed. by H.W. Fowler (A BOOK ON GRAMMAR)
http://www.bartleby.com/217/1001.html

"CAMBRIDGE HISTORY OF ENGLISH... "Sir Thomas Brown has used "However, contrary to...."
http://www.bartleby.com/217/1001.html

"THE COLUMBIA ENCYCLOPEDIA 6th edition 2001-05" where it is used "However, contrary to...."
http://www.bartleby.com/65/to/toad.html

The thing here is to say that you can use the internet for "the smoking guns" related to your mistakes - a quick solution to confirm errors. That's what I meant to say and not to hurt the sentiments of others.

Thanks

A-salam-o-Wal-e-kum
Now I am going to give another of my humble effort for your kind perusal and valuable suggestions for corrections. But with an extreme sense of isolation on planet Pluto, which is not being considered by our future bureaucrats of this forum to pay heed with Hubble Telescope. With an utmost regard for them, I request that please take some time for passage writing, which is 20 marks question and also gives you a drill for making good composition. In the end I would like to say that this is my last passage until or unless anyone else would participate.

THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO READ;

Take Care,

ALLAH HAFIZ

regards

Goodwill is earned by many acts: it can be lost by one.

A bad fish could spoil the whole pond. In the same way; any inappropriate act could devastate the whole foundation of a relationship, a business, an honor, or a reputation. A broken glass could be joined together but it is impossible to make it seamless. Before the customers, years of hard work and fame of a business would bite the dust by one of its dishonorable act. Paragons of friendship and love would crunch with a single act of suspicion. And a symbol of honor and esteem would be blackened with one impudent exposure. This natural law is the part and parcel of our elite corporate business ethos and of a successful democracy. None of the rolls of excellence would be of any use for a high-up of an enterprise if that person commits a serious unlawful undertaking or does an immoral act. Similar is the case with genuine democracy; the highest of the judiciary, executive, or the legislative -whatever may be their goodwill and reputation – would have to eat a humble pie with any of their misdeed; the masses will forget the history of good-work upon a single unacceptable and serious error of the top-brass. To be always prudent in one's actions and expressions and be honest in intentions and expectations are the core requirements for an everlasting and stable impression upon the people. There is no doubt that to error is human but it is also true that human beings are the vicegerent of Allah, Who has provided for all the guidance and ways for a successful and honorable life in this world i.e. in the form of Qur'an and the practical life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Without fully compliant with Qur'anic injunctions, a goodwill which is earned by many acts can be lost by one error.

@ secondopenion:- well dear i must commend ur efforts and actual pain u r inflicting upon urself to compose these passages and in the process initiating healthy discussions which , i find no reason ,why others are not participating in.

i m only an invisible observer on this forum, i have contributed very little if any,nevertheless , i will articulate my views however naive they may be.
some of the aspirants have pointed out to u grammatical errors and then argued over correctness of their views, which is also good if it leads to some final conclusions or strengthens ur own convictions about certain things.

here is analysis of one of ur passage . it is about thesis and development of ur work...

a person can not suffer because of mistakes of another person. we have not come here to suffer because of mistakes of adam and eve . it is a christian philosophy that we are here to suffer. And they ultimately connect it with crucifixion of jesus (upon whom be peace) for liberation of mankind from this suffering.
But leaving this aside for a second. If we proceed with the argument that we attribute our suffering to adam and eve , who will u attribute blessings to ? there is a reasoning error in this from one more angle ; if we are suffering here because of adam and eve, it also means if they had not commited that mistake we had been happier, freer from hold of sufferings so cause of all our miseries is because they commited ‘’ sin ‘’ and ultimately brunt of what we suffer falls upon their shoulders thereby exempting us from all sins, thus eliminating the need for heaven or hell, and making them responsible for our suffering also entails that one person can suffer for another persons sins which too is not atleast muslim philosophy.
so, over all aim of ur paragraph is making itself clear its true meaning but to an eye which observers intricsies ur paragraph will be broken down into components propostions of which will be based upon other propositions and as a result complete unambiguous picture will emerge.

u should have written something like this

U :-It is human nature that it craves for happiness, freedom and relaxation. However,pleasure,happiness,freedom and relaxation are not the only things.there is no doubt, suffering , ordeal, afflictions, diseasess and ills are things of this earth and for people... So in this world, the mankind is for living a life full of worries, which start from the birth with a cry for food and end at the last breath with a fear of death. Thus, the reason to be in this world is to bear anxieties, frustrations and fears. Now the question is if there is no way out of tensions then how to live in the world? The answer would be clear by a simple logic that a child is unaware of the threat of the weapons of mass destruction or an inevitable death. The baby lives in a careless and fearless world, which is full of joy and liveliness. This world of neglect is the real cause of an everlasting happiness of the kid. Therefore, it is the ignorance which safe the children from high blood pressure, heart attack, depression and so on. this example of blood pressure , heart disease , depression is not fitted because disease are inevitable in that they are bound to cause symptoms, and induce pain, so make u stagger,and writhe , but children do not know about the person who is standing beside them, or who has kidnapped him, or they dont not even know about terrorist, what terrorism is. they even dont know if some one dies before them but they do know if something of the sort happens with them like disease. To neglect certain realities that have nothing to do with our daily life is necessary. Such matters which have no immediate bearings upon our daily routine should be ignored. Pondering over such problems would be out of our scope. There are thousands of moments of joys are lying in front of us; the need is to realize them and accept the reality that where ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise
...
so sum it up , thesis of ur paragraph has good conclusion but its premise is weak, bound to crumble. try to improve it .

p.s .pls dont take offence if u do not agree with some of my views. and do tell me ur remarks about it.

@VERSATILE

Asalam-o-Walekum;

Thanks for your analysis of "WHERE IGNORANCE IS BLISS, IT IS FOLLY TO BE WISE." I am totally at odds with your views (Don't mind telling you explicitly). The following arguments are in response to your query:
• This is not an Islamiat paper in which you have to relate only with Islamic ideology. It is a composition paper and any thesis could be used, however, with sound and reasonable justifications. However, I haven't said anything contrary to Islam as I have discussed below in my next argument. Also you should know the fact that Christianity is still the largest religion and CSS exam is not only restricted to Muslims and lots of Christians also attempt CSS exam, which is free from any religious bias. We should not criticize and negate the beliefs of others especially in such a manner or in an inappropriate place.
• If you read my passage again then find out that I haven't said anything about that you have argued ".....mistakes of a human being would cause another to suffer,.......... entails that one person can suffer for another persons sins which too is not atleast muslim philosophy......" I have explicitly said that mistake of Adam and Eve against Allah's command – which if they did not do then they would have not been expelled from the paradise: a place of virtual happiness and devoid of pain and worries. Here in this world, it is pain and worries, which are not in the paradise. If Adam and Eve would not have committed the sin then would we be in this world? Read the following Verses from Sura AL-BAQARA:

35. And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrongdoers.
36. But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a tune.
37. Then Adam received from his Lord words (of revelation), and He relented toward him. Lo! He is the Relenting the Merciful.
38. We said: Go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance; and whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

Note the final words, in the last verse, "FEAR" and "GRIEVE". One of the most important reasons of "FEAR" and "GRIEVE" for men in this world is the "anticipation for the inevitable death." Why humans fear and grieve death? The reason is that there are some people who are bestowed by Allah almighty all the bounties or luxuries of life; those people do not want to leave such state of ecstasy, therefore, they are the most fearful of death and would get depressed and their B.P would be high after hearing the news of a disastrous conflict like Nuclear threat for a definite death. However, this is a threat and not related to the immediate chores of life but they worry all the time about this puzzle; for example, people in the US are enjoying the pinnacle of luxuries of life but they are the most fearful of a nuclear threat. I hope you are the daily reader of newspaper and this would not require further explanation.

Now take into consideration: middle class or below middle-class humans, who are worried whole of their life about earning a living for their families and there are several people who cannot feed themselves and their families even a single time meal and thus a life full of agonies and grieves. So what is their purpose in whole of their life? To crave for a few bits of happiness by satiating their hunger. Happiness cannot be truly defined; for example, three times enough meal would be a source of extreme happiness for the people living in penury and hunger but could we say that three times of meal would be a source of happiness for a King or a wealthy person?

In both of the above situations, from the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor, both of them are suffering; in the case of first the suffering is mental agony for a probable death and loss of luxuries of life and in the latter it is sufferings for physical malnutrition, hunger etc. but not for fear of death, which in some cases took the shape of suicide by those with extreme afflictions.

So, here in this world humans are only for suffering with grief and fear; that's what Allah has said in Sura AL-ASR:

"By the declining day, Lo! man is in a state of loss (103:1-2)

But Allah has also given us a way to save us from the sufferings and grieves of life given in the same chapter (AL-ASR) given above:

"Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance. (103:3)"

Therefore, the reason to save oneself from suffering is to exhort one another for truth and endurance. But remember suffering is inevitable; you are just increasing the threshold of it by endurance and belief in Allah.

Now what "endurance" is doing as said in the above verse? If you endure a thing you get used to a suffering and in this way you forget about the pain and agonies of it as if it is just like a habit. "GHAM KA KHOGAR HO INSAAN TO MIT JATA HAI GHUM; MUSHKILAY ITNI PARI MUJH PAR K ASAN HOGAI – Ghalib"

So come to my passage now, what I have said in my conclusion that pondering over the problems and worries, which are the part and parcel of life; for example, nuclear threat cannot be avoided if you go on and on worrying about it. The simple way is to ignore them and solve the immediate concerns of your life that would be more beneficial to you if resolved; that is, as said in the above "Sura Al-Asr" to believe in Allah and obey His commands and that nothing could be done to them without His willingness. On the contrary, poor men is enjoined to endure the sufferings and misery of life and belief in life after death, where justice would be done; because fear, suffering and grief are the component of this world.

In the end, it would be an injustice with my passage that you have amalgamated your own views. Remember, "you could justify your own opinions with sound reasons and you cannot impose upon others your own opinions." It is better you mold your own passage with the above recommended suggestions.

THANKS AND REALLY OBLIGED TO YOUR KIND PERUSAL OF MY WORK.

With a hope for forgiveness if something have offended the feelings of anyone;

Regards,

SECONDOPINION02

P.S: What Lal Masjid Brigade is doing that they are imposing their own will upon people; their acts are totally in violations of Islam. Their behavior is causing more harm to our religion that the deliberate enemies of Islam; (Enmity of the deadliest enemy is less worrisome than the infatuation of a stupid friend).

OH MY GOD! I can't believe that I have discussed something related to Islamiat with reference to Quran. I am really in debt to VERSATILE, who has given me a chance to inquire and think. I, sincerely, honestly, with the core of my heart -- the pacemaker from where heart beat initiates --- thank VERSATILE for his arguments related to my passage.

Thanks again VERSATILE; with an anticipation of your own participation, which would be gems in my thread here.

plz critically analyse my composition with refrence to thesis, logic, grammatical errors thereof. u are free to express urself ,ur openions, views as long as u are within the confines of sane logic.

A PEN BECOMES A CLARION

in one of the battles fought between evil and good , hazart ali took his “zulifqaar” out and cut the enemy’s body in two halves ,and thus marked justice with sword. On the other hand, in our modern times when nuclear bombs replaced swords, Hiroshima and Nagasaki where turned to stone age in matter of few mintues. nazi germany exterminated six million jews with brutal deeds, might was used with right. All sacred books of jews were burned and the words in them were punished , Hitler was hailed as God incarnate. And pen saw all of this with its silent hues of its silent colors, but brutalities went on, stalins death camps were there to execute people on mass scale. That was the time ,when we doubted the existence of the pen. And its clarion call was audible beyond the frequency of human ear ! but history noted all this as if a miser with complains spoke his head before a tyrant but could not do anything other than write dictates of his ‘’ master ‘’
history is replete with injustice, chaos, and disturbances. All of our efforts to write and rewrite peace treaties and common understanding to ensure peace only ends with another war, war with words and war with sWords. We try to curb injustice, corruption, war , misery, poverty, intolerance with the clarion of pen but then all of these settle back on their path then we engage in writing more peace treaties this time with convincing promises,only to find later on that promises were just pieces of paper drawn at some insane hour away from the world of reality. It seems that all of our efforts to change this world have failed but then trumpets never cease to tell us of hopes and great expectations and a pen that becomes a clarion of nothing.

WHERE IGNORANCE IS BLISS, IT IS FOLLY TO BE WISE

All of us will eventually die, some will die earlier than others but all will taste it at one time in their life. So to speak , we are ignorant of the actual time of death , that we continue to live as if we will never die, thus enjoy life to its fullest. And try to mingle with people,to laugh with them, to listen to their worries, and to try to seek solutions for their temporal problems.
but curious sense to know what is behind the wall, is so divinely implanted in us all, that we take ourselves to a higher plane than to merely remain in blissful ignorance.
Socrates was sure of the next world, and his inquisitive sense allowed him to inquire into truths of nature , be it death, life ,virtue, justice, corruption or decay of socities. he chose death of hundred times over the unjust life thus defeating the fear of death . he says in Apology ‘’ The hour of departure has arrived, and we go our ways—I to die, and you to live. Which is better God only knows’’ so he seeded confusion in minds of his hearers as to life or death was better.
Now we are able to save life of a child having problems with heart valves with sophisticated cardiac surgery, decrease distances to mere push of telephone buttons, remain connected with each other yet live at distant places. Live life of luxury in air conditioned rooms, sleep on feather beds, and soothe our eyes with tv shows, and what not ! I doubt if these achievements were possible with tool of ignorance. Or if it was folly to be wise in these things.
It is enjoind in holy quran at several places to inquire into nature and fathom laws of it. How milk is formed between intestine and flesh , how sun shines , star twinkles, and how two layers of sweet and salty water are separated with slanted barriers. Al quran has asked us to seek knowledge from cradle to grave. Our holy prophet placed reason above ignorance , sought to solve into matters of all sort with consultation than with ignorance. He asked muslims to aquire knowledge even if they had to go to china. It is obligatory upon every muslim man and woman to aquire knowledge because Knowledge is virtue, and virtue is knowledge so what is virtue is always blissful, not just one or few times but at all times. we can not resort to ignorance and close our eyes at approaching train, we must move out of the track and keep our eyes open.
If one learns to place reason above emotion, values above urgencies, knowledge above ignorance one is sure to be in bliss and yet away from ignorance.

@VERSATILE

Following is the assessment of your one passage; the reason not to assess is in under the heading of "suggestions":

A PEN BECOMES A CLARION (CORRECTIONS)

(IN)in one of the battles fought between evil and good, (Hazrat Ali (R.A)) hazart ali took his “zulifqaar” out and cut the enemy’s body in two halves, and thus marked justice with sword. (HEY! LOOK YOU ARE COMPARING NEGATIVELY THE SWORD OF THE MOST REVERED FIGURE IN ISLAM "HAZRAT ALI (R.A) WITH THE USE OF ATOM BOMB IN NAGASAKI AND HIRSHIMA)On the other hand, in our modern times when nuclear bombs replaced swords, Hiroshima and Nagasaki where(WERE) turned to stone age in (a) matter of few mintues(minutes). (Nazi Germany)nazi germany exterminated six million jews(Jews) with brutal deeds (I SUGGEST TO USE "brutality" rather than "brutal deeds"), might was used with right. All sacred books of jews(Jews) were burned and the words in them were punished (LOGICAL ERROR: How come words be punished?), Hitler was hailed as God (It is better to use "god" instead of capital "God" because Hitler revered as "god" but not the real "God"). And pen saw all of this with its silent hues of its silent colors (AGAIN; IT SEEMS THAT HAZRAT ALI (R.A) BE SEEN BY PEN NEGATIVELY BECAUSE YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY GIVEN 2 EXAMPLES: ONE HAZRAT ALI'S SWORD ACT AND NUCLEAR BOMBS), but brutalities went on (HAZRAT ALI KILLED FROM HIS SWORD, IS THIS ALSO INCLUDE BRUTILITY?), stalins (Stalin) death camps were there to execute people on mass scale. That was the time, (DO NOT USE COMMA HERE BECAUSE "when" COULD BETTER BE USED AS CONJUNCTION) when we doubted the existence of the pen. And its clarion call was audible beyond the frequency of human ear! (HEY! FREQUENCY IS NOT OF HUMAN EAR, IT IS OF SOUND; HERE IT SEEMS THAT "frequency means frequent or rate of occurrence") but history noted all this as if a miser with complains spoke (spoke of) his (its) head before a tyrant but could not do anything other than write (writing the) dictates of his "master"(.) (History)history is replete with injustice, chaos, and disturbances. All of our efforts to write and rewrite peace treaties and common understanding to ensure peace (SUGGESSION: IT IS NOT GOOD TO REPEAT THE WORD AS YOU HAVE ALREADY USED "PEACE" IN THE SENTENCE; THIS MAKES READING DULL; IT IS BETTER TO USE SYNONYM OF PEACE; FOR EXAMPLE, "harmony") only ends ("ends" IS WRONG "end" IS RIGHT BECAUSE "end" REFERS TO "efforts") with another war, war (AGAIN! REPETITIVE WORD "WAR"; USE INSTEAD SYNONYM LIKE "conflicts, warfare, confrontation, etc) with words and war with swords. We try to curb injustice, corruption, war, misery, poverty, intolerance with the clarion of pen but then ("but then" should be "and when") all of these settle back on their path then we engage in writing more peace treaties this time with convincing promises, only to find later on that promises were ("are" BECAUSE YOU ARE ASSUMING PRESENT IN WHOLE OF YOUR ARGUMENT) just pieces of paper(,) drawn at some insane hour away from the world of reality. It seems that all of our efforts to change this world have failed but then ("but then" should be "and") trumpets never cease to tell us of hopes and great expectations and (REPETITIVE USE OF "and" DULLING THE SENTENCE) a pen that becomes a clarion of nothing.

SUGGESTIONS:
• It is an effort, which is significant in a sense that it has overcome "WRITER'S BLOCK". I think you haven't given time to rethink and reorganize. Remember, you cannot write a perfect passage with a single effort; although you could get that perfection only by practicing. "To split hair" is an idiom meaning "to pay too much attention on trivial matters or argue on useless things" but it is very useful way in composition "to read again and again; to rethink again and again; and to reorganize again and again" and then finally come with a superb combination. Therefore, you should not ignore the importance of revising.
• Next, you have played the religious sentiments with a mess. Do not try to comment or refer upon any religious aspect when you are unsure of anything or could not justify logically or reasonably.
• And in the passage you have taken the pen negatively "a pen becomes a clarion of nothing." Hello! The purpose of the passage writing is to elaborate the meaning of the famous proverb and not to criticize upon it. Although criticism could be done but you are not writing a critical passage but writing a comprehensive note, which means clarification, not your the disagreement with the proverb.
• Finally, in your second passage "WHERE IGNORANCE IS BLISS: IT IS FOLLY TO BE WISE," you have done the same thing as I have described above. You have criticized the proverb and provided your opinion. Sir, it is not an analytical essay or opinion essay, it is a question to elaborate the meaning in a single passage – I repeat again "elaborate the meaning" – not to criticize that you are not agreed with the proverb.
In the end, "To error is human", if you think that I am not right on some points – really I have very limited knowledge – then I would be glad and highly appreciate if you clear out my mistakes.

Thanks

Regards,

First of all, I thank u for bringing this discussion to another level. And I also thank u for not minding to tell me explicitly.

I will move point wise so that there are less chances of digressing from main points of our concern, and most aspects to which we focus our attention get some result in the end.

U :- • This is not an Islamiat paper in which you have to relate only with Islamic ideology.

I :- this is indeed not Islamiat paper. I know this but thanks anyway for reminding me of it. However whatever is related with religion in essay or any other paper for that matter should,in my view, have confirmation from islamiyiat, or mentioned with some prudence so as not to raise doubts in mind of examiner about its contradictions with muslim philosophy not because I m a staunch follower of islam but because there will be suspion about u being underrated in their books as regards marks.. this is simply in view of the fact that the checker would most likely be a muslim therefore he would be knowing more about islam than chirstianity, and if he is a chirstian checker even then u will be on a safer side of the road as he would be knowing about muslim points of views about our religion as they live here and are offered islamiyat in their courses. Ur marking is least likely to suffer on this basis. i anticipate that u understand my point with refrence to exam.
However , my reason over this contention was not because u are prohibited to mention chirstian views or views of any other religion , u may mention any view u like. U are at a liberty to mention even most contentious points of any person. my point is simply that further conclusions should be derived from it to match truth of ur previous proposition. Furthermore , I even know that chirstianity is the largest religion from point of view of its followers, but u seem to forget that its concentrated in European countries. Ur papers will not be sent to Europe to check its validity. U should read mind of a reader, as u must have read one of the precept of writing essay to keep in mind the audience for whom u are writing. This is very important, and tallies with rules of good composition. However if u are reserved about it, u can be contented that I don’t personally mind it.
{As an additive, I must say that not every word of bible is word of God Almighty, so when a point is directly aimed at a reader like me , who can adopt some views depending upon its validity , it is quite illogical to accept those which are not valid from our religious point of view and point of view of common sense. I m specially against those words which are in contradiction with Alquran.}

I :- I have written in my post this : - a person can not suffer because of mistakes of another person. we have not come here to suffer because of mistakes of adam and eve . it is a christian philosophy that we are here to suffer. And they ultimately connect it with crucifixion of jesus (upon whom be peace) for liberation of mankind from this suffering.
Exposition: First of all, u have not written what I have said, as eyes know it, but this is indeed direct deduction from ur paragraph, and continuation of train of thoughts as u put it.
And have I said anywhere anything contemptuous about chirstianity itself? I simply said a person can not suffer on account of mistakes of another person.even a person with little amount of intelligence would know this. and it is indeed a chirstian philosophy. So what is inappropriate about it ? I have said they ultimately connect it with crucifixion of jesus (peace be upon him) for liberation of mankind from this suffering. What is so inappropriate or wrong about it? There are conclusions which naturally flow from it .
DEAR Sir, if u pick up one end of the stick u pick up another. Obviously, there is nothing bad about picking any end of the stick , but then we should have courage to face consequences arriving from there.

U :- I have explicitly said that mistake of Adam and Eve against Allah's command – which if they did not do then they would have not been expelled from the paradise: a place of virtual happiness and devoid of pain and worries. Here in this world, it is pain and worries, which are not in the paradise. If Adam and Eve would not have committed the sin then would we be in this world?

I:- U are right When u say that Adam and eve wudnot have been expelled from paradise if they had not disbelieved. But u are wrong when u say paradise is a place of virtual happiness, and devoid of pain and worries[I will prove this from ur own statements] For this I only have to ask from u few questions.
u say this :-“ … would have not been expelled from the paradise: a place of virtual happiness and devoid of pain and worries…”

My question is this : if paradise is a place of virtual happiness, and devoid of pain and worries, why was source of worry placed IN paradise ; forbidden fruit? And were they not UNHAPPY when they ate of the prohibited fruit ? yes or no? Or u are saying that they were unhappy only when they had decended down on earth? if u say they were unhappy only when they had been decended I would ask of u , was virtual happiness, absence of pain, and worries the only things , or other things like beauty of thought, protection from error and absence of afflictions are of paradise in orgin? Because since paradise is attributed to all good things , it is NOT a good thing to mistake in it, so making mistake is not a thing which could be imagined of in paradise. As opposed to ur view, they did make a mistake, and they did suffer for it.

Furthermore, u did not answer to one of my questions in my post ..

Question is this . if paradise is the place of virtual peace , free from worries, and pain , and earth is the place for worries and pain and unhappiness, why are some people happy on earth ? my question was : who will u attribute ur blessings of earth to? If u attribute suffering to adam and eve ?

U have mentioned some surahs of baqra on which I will comment as regards authenticity and cross match of ur views . but I would like to mention this surah.
[Baqarah 2:30] And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to place My Caliph in the earth"; they said, "Will You place (as a caliph) one who will spread turmoil in it and shed blood? Whereas we glorify You with praise and proclaim Your Sanctity"; He said, "I know what you do not."

Mr. second opinion read this verse carefully . “ I m about to place My caliph in the EARTH”

God almighty was about to place man in earth.so if he was placed in earth ,which according to u is place of unhappiness, worry and pain , so it was inevitable to escape from it anywhere on earth. yet we say HE placed man in paradise , so do we conclude that paradise is in earth ? we must conclude it since , he was placed in garden as Quran says [Baqarah 2:35] And We said, "O Adam! You and your wife dwell in this Garden, and eat freely from it wherever you please - but do not approach this tree for you will become of those who transgress." Trees and garden can only grow in earth . plz refute this if u have something better to offer.

"Will You place (as a caliph) one who will spread turmoil in it and shed blood? Whereas we glorify You with praise and proclaim Your Sanctity"; He said, "I know what you do not."

Angels said that man will spread turmoil in it(earth) and shed blood. But God said those man who follow path of righteousness will not be transgressors and will not spread turmoil and shed blood on earth. so question is not about man’s presence in paradise or earth, but that he should not transgress.

U:- Note the final words, in the last verse, "FEAR" and "GRIEVE".

I:- ‘Fear’ and ‘grieve’ refers to fear of God and grieviance from past sins which we call as repentance. If we fear anything other than fear of God almighty, we are indeed guilty of the grossest sins. Therefore for true believers death sentence of God is indeed a bounty. The Prophet said “Death is a welcome gift of God to the believer”

IN this world u should only do excess in things as are essential for a journey to maintain u and ur integrity . and indeed happiness for different people may mean different things , for a poor, it lies in three times of bread , for a king in luxurious life as u so artfully place it. But that is not true happiness, for true happiness is only achieved with ceasless love for knowledge which gets u attainment of God’s will, for if u will not look ur happiness in this act than u will be wanting it all things, and u will see mirage of happiness in all things , u will be accumulating hell in all things

Imam Gazzali writes in his Alchemy Of Happiness “We have seen above that one kind of spiritual hell is the forcible separation from worldly things to which the heart clave too fondly. Many carry about within them the germs of such a hell without being aware of it; hereafter they will feel like some king who, after living in luxury, has been dethroned and made a laughing-stock”

Therefore the Koran says, "He who is blind in this life, will be blind in the next life, and astray from the path."
Please note in above that we only reap of that which we have sown. It is not about ur being on earth or not on earth. but ur deeds that count, so simply put earth is not source of everlasting pain, and affliction , we are not condemned to be present on earth as free souls. We have a will. It get u happiness or sorrow , on this earth and hereafter.
Whereas, on the contrary, if he has as far as possible turned his back on all earthly objects and fixed his supreme affection upon God, he will welcome death as a means of escape from worldly entanglements, and of union with Him whom he loves”.
Our Holy Prophet said, "Death is a bridge which unites friend to friend,"
The Prophet said that. every unbeliever, after death, will be tormented by ninety-nine snakes, each having nine heads
Every sinner thus carries with him into the world beyond death the instruments of his own punishment; and the Koran says truly, "Verily you shall see hell; you shall see it with the eye of certainty," and "hell surrounds the unbelievers." It does not say "will surround them," for it is round them even now.
So , my personal view about this world is that one should not do excesses in any thing, he is a passerby here, he must focus his attention on the target for which he was sent down here. And only eat as a guest who will go to different location where his home is. Contrary to ur view , I don’t think however, that world is everlasting misery , unhappiness, and pain. and we are suffering because of mistake of adam and eve.
the Prophet when he said, "The world is a curse, and all which is in it is a curse, except the remembrance of God, and that which aids it." He did not mean to say that every thing on earth is a curse, but only those things that take u away from love of God. Those that aid in love of God, on earth, are by no means curse, that is the basic point. And even u have said this point in ur post which says.

U :- "Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance.

"GHAM KA KHOGAR HO INSAAN TO MIT JATA HAI GHUM; MUSHKILAY ITNI PARI MUJH PAR K ASAN HOGAI – Ghalib"………… The simple way is to ignore them and solve the immediate concerns of your life that would be more beneficial to you if resolved; that is, as said in the above "Sura Al-Asr" to believe in Allah and obey His commands and that nothing could be done to them without His willingness….”

I:- “save those who believe and do good works…” It says “save those” which will be translated as “except those” . when we make exception in anything, we exclude those things from the main list, after provision of pre-conditions. And if conditions are provided then there is no point of endurance. On the contrary they are in bliss while they provide such conditions.
As far a couplet of Ghalib is concerned it is unrelated with ur point , because in one who engage in belief and do good deeds, are doing the opposite of unbelief, and bad deeds. Whereas , ghalib poem applies when u have same thing to the point of overflow, that u become insensitve to it anymore. In this , ‘ pain’ to the point of overflow that it blocks pain. So this is the end of the discussion at this point. But if I lead ur argument of ghalib a bit further, u will infere that even though u don’t feel pain anymore to point when it is at overflow, but damage is being done,regardless of the feeling of pain. I hope u see this point and see that analogy is not complete.
In sura al-asar Allah indeed say to believe in him and obey His commands, and that nothing could be done to them without his willingness , but dear, u should understand the context behind it, on one occasion our Holy prophet was asked by one of his disciples about this verse, and he said that “ leave everything unto Allah, but tie ur camel ‘’
