The way forward 7. CONCLUSION Pakistan has been facing an acute shortage of electricity since 2006-07. The present energy crisis started with a gradual widening in the demand and supply gap of electricity. Since then this gap has grown and has assumed proportions. This widening demand supply gap has resulted in regular load shedding of eight to ten hours in urban areas and eighteen to twenty hours in rural areas. Rapid growth in demand, high system losses, and inadequate generation capacity are among the major reasons for this huge gap. Seasonal reduction in the availability of hydropower, reduction in the indigenous gas resources and too much reliance on imported fuel oil for power generation are primarily responsible for the current crisis. The unavailability of this fuel oil given the mounting circular debt problem has further accentuated the energy crisis. The persistent shortage of electricity in the country has adversely affected the national economy. Industrial production has been severely hit; and also triggered social unrest which sometimes turns violent thus, creating law and order problems in many urban centres in the country. |

Insufficient management Gasoline Mafia Circular Debt Issue Less water than what is required Other crucial projects failure Energy wastage Theft of Energy Power Ever growing Population 4-Suggestions I-Long Term policy Utilization of Nuclear Energy Crystal clear foreign policy towards USA & IRAN TPI & TAPI Projects Thar Coal Projects New Dams II-Short term Policy To reduce commercial hours for the time being Boosting to use of energy Savers Categorize commercial and house usage energy to generate power Solar and wind energy Catching power theft To punish corrupt master minds from top to bottom Media's role 5-Conclusion Energy is a sign of life. Our country is trying to run but it is unable to walk on its own feet due to energy crisis, because energy plays a vital role to keep the wheel of economy moving on in astonishing speed. Besides, nearly each and every sector i.e industrial, business and commercial sectors are dependent on energy. In addition to this, education, offices, hospitals in simple words every people is highly dependent on electricity. Without energy no one can survive effectively and astonishingly. However, in the current scenario, due to corruption and malpractice our energy sector has nearly been doomed, people are becoming psychological patients because they can not manage to work properly in their offices, on the other hand, students are unable to do their studies properly and they are studying without power in their school in such an awful weather. As a matter of fact, demand and supply gap has highly been increased since last decade, that's why energy crisis has really been a hydra headed monster. Therefore, it is the need of our to kill hydra headed monster otherwise it will kill or eat us awfully. |
