Much appreciated comments dear Dms672. Yes the expansion of the essay may be a bit lengthier than the required one but, I think a small flavor of these facts is essential to justify the context of essay.
Hope to get your valuable comments on my outlines in future

Admittedly, In modern world, Media is considered as the fourth pillar of the state, whose functions are indispensable for the smooth and effective functioning of a society. It is a major tool for development of nation. It is an established fact that a nation and its media rise and fall together. As a watchdog, Its key liability is to protect social, political and economic value of society. Media enjoys a tremendous power in modern world. It is the dire need of today’s globalized people to be aware of their surroundings. Therefore, everyone gets information through easy accessible sources of media. Mainly it is involved in Educating the masses and making them politically and economically aware. It provides latest information rapidly about whole world, national, and local events. It is considered Backbone of democracy. It Protects human rights and Uncover threats and opportunities confronting any country of world. Media performs crucial functions in a society, but some time its role may turned negative.. Instead of giving important information and educative programs, all that one gets on television is sensational depiction of all news stories, their only goal being gaining television rating points (TRPs). Media creates super hype on different incidents. It may spread rumors, lies, and incorrect information. Media is regarded as the most powerful weapon of 21st century, but unfortunately, media these days has become Commercialized Sector. Verily, if media identifies its responsibility, work sincerely and honestly, Government pay due attention toward media and give Proper Training to journalists ,then it can serve as a great force in building the nation.

very nice attempt indeed..we must include this if the case is related to "land of pure"
1.proper media institutions...for only and only media studies...rather a dedicated university can be opened for this purpose
2.print and electronic media personnel must be distinguished as both types require separate sort of skills and demands different sort of vigilance
3.joint ventures of local and international media to enhance productivity...
4.bombardment of new news channels must be sopped and some other channels must also be opened...

Sidra you are always good, as usual. I have really confused that what should be the powers of today's Media?? Should these " to educate, to entertain, to inform, and to influence? But wait! as far as I know, these are not powers of media rather duties and roles. so do you guys agree? If not then put forward your suggestion and views.

iii. Make Communication easy between ruler and the ruled

ii. Corrupts and exploits the People
iii. Media mirrors society by reflecting it as a society with low morals
iv. Media teaches by means of vibrations and images that leave a greater effect on the youth
v. Can blackmail specific group

5. How Media Use these Powers

i. Advertisement

iii. Print Media
iv. Electronic Media

6. The way forward

i. Strict punishment should be given for defamation and Libel
ii. Media should abide by the code of ethics
iii. Government interference should be reduced
iv. Media person should be confined to authorized powers

7. Conclusion

Media has gained wide currency in the modern world. It has assumed that power which can alter the fate of any nation. This is why it is called fourth pillar of a society. Its basic functions/ roles are to inform, to educate, to entertain, and to influence. However, under these heads, it wields its unprecedented power. First, it has a power to check the wrong policies of a government and to keep the public inform about government’s noble and ignoble policies. Secondly, it provides people with a specific platform where they may voice their grievances and feedback. Third, it is a major source of communication between ruler and the ruled which, ultimately, helps to plug the gap between the two. Furthermore, media influence the minds of the people and mould their way of thinking in whatever manner it deem fit. Besides, media has witnessed unprecedented change in the life style of the people. Now people are running after better way of life. Moreover, media can also help fostering peaceful and tolerant society. Besides, its influence does not end here rather it has reached outside the so-called boundaries of any country.

Apart from the above positive powers, media has innate negative powers as well. It has individually engaging and affecting total person since it has assumed power. Media has corrupted the society and its power to exploit the people in different ways can not be ruled out. Media, especially magazines and T.V, publish unethical contents which corrupt the society in general and youth in particular. On the one hand, it blackmails a particular group of people to further their ignoble acts. On the other hand, it is being used to flourish particular faith or religion. In addition, advertisement, Print Media, and Electronic Media are the major sources of this malice of a society.

As the Chinese saying goes, a journey of thousand miles begins with a single step. We can and should address this problem at the earliest by resorting to strict punishment for defamation and Libel. Furthermore, Media should abide by the code of ethics
and government’s interference should be reduced to a minimum. Last but not the least, media persons should be confined to their authorized powers.

My dear friends and fellows, I am really surprised that many active members are absent from the activity. I do not know whether they are really busy or reluctant to take part in this thread. Anyways I am looking forward for better participation in the future. As much time has elapsed now, so I think we need to throw a new topic. All the members are highly appreciated to attempt the following essay.

"Global Warming"
