well i had enough time in all the papers.....and geography paper was the only paper where i misunderstood an entire question....time is not an issue...especially if you know how to express yourself....the problem that most of us face during such exams is that we know so much and we want to write so much but we can't possibly pen down each and every point....therefore in every paper i tried to pen down my material in as short a form as possible.....perhaps the result will decide whether i was wrong or right...to sum it up:
1-solid introduction 2-developing main theme 3- avoid repetition 4-avoid spelling and grammatical mistakes (it is simple....the more the pages the more the spelling mistakes...the more the encirclements on the paper and the more will you suffer) 5- simple and understable english. 6-good and neat handwriting. My line is:::: the examiner is not interested to know how much you know about "Erosion, or Muhammad Bin Qasim or something like that"....he knows that if you are appearing in CSS you better be knowing something....he looks for your analysis...you critical assertions...your point of view upon certain things and how you inter-relate the different aspects of your knowledge and apply it somewhere....i believe the era of "Write down an Account of Mahmud Ghaznavis attacks on India" is being replaced by "Why did he attack india or what were the effects of his invasion upon ordinary people of this country"..... i dun knw about the second part cuz that was far too general in nature...ba paper 1....i knw i haf hit three questions right on the bulls eye :P...i attempted the following questions.... q.2 define mass wasting and explain mass wasting in detail. q.3 present the rock cycle in connection with its reincarnation. q4 describe landforms and evolution of landscapes of glaciation in the mid and high latitudes. q.5 identify the geographic patterns of evapotranspiration.Examine the factors contributing to expanding deserts around the globe. and i completely misunderstood question #2 apart from that the rest was easy.....!!! |

I should have prepared short notes for quick revision as I realised that once the papers started there was no time to revise everything, most of the papers went fine but in Geograpgy I forgot simple things like in the question about Glaciers I only wrote 7 out of the 10 landforms as had forgotten the rest, even though I had read the currents but still I wrote only one part of the whole question..
And one more thing, many a times I listened to others even though the answer that I thought was the correct one was actually the correct answer, maybe because I felt that a guy whose giving the exam the second time might know more than I do.. Quote:

my experience of css 2010
well this was my first attempt and i took it completely, what i got in portion of experience and mistakes is as follow 1.your confidence in yourself always make you able to achieve your goals.
2.Tough schedule of paper never allow you to go through all the books,so notes preparation and right approach to right material is always necessary for exams like css. 3.Always concenterate what is being asked in question and answer the question by living in the boundries of question, each and every step while answering can take us away from high marks. 4.Writing practice during preparation always help during the papers because sometime our writing speed creates problems in time management during the papers. 5. paper can be a surprise for you so be prepared for any kind of paper style. 6.Be original while answering the questions. 6. We should always seek help by Allaha almighty for our success. |

Suggestion for attempting subjective part
Hope all is doing well.
CSS 2010 stands poles apart from 2009 and this year questions were more of anlytic type rather than pure. I guess it would have troubled crammers but it went very well for me. I had a suggestion for attempting a balanced paper, means judicious answers to all questions in paper. Usually aspirants put much emphasis on first question and ran short of time. A balanced approach is that select four questions which you think you have better command of and then draw an outline for all four questions, mentioning the points needed, the analysis it require and do this at start of subjective part. This way you better organise your questions and then while writing there is not a chance that you skip any important point or idea asked inquestion. This way you dont get panic for answer content and missed nothing important. I personally spent 40 minutes drawing outline for every question of all subjective papers and then smoothly covered all those points in all questions. But keep in mind everyone has a way to attempt paper, consider it as a suggestion. I wish you luck all 2010 and remember me in your prayers as well :-)

one thing
one thing for those who have taken css 2010 and are going to have css 2011 also or planning to do so.concentrate on these points:
you know what mistakes you have done, try to to cover these mistakes. you know what was left in last attempt and came as a suprise in exam, cover those topics you know what is your weakness, cover it from all perspectives you know what time management errors or misunderstandings you have this year, highlight those and cover those you know which topics are for objective part and which are for subjective part ,concentrate on those don't waste time and combine all necessary details you missed in this attempt build up your background knowledge on topics you find important so you can face all tricks css plays. best of luck
