Dear Could u please share ure thoughts about ure experience of English Literature? last time i scored 125 marks in it but this year the paper was bit tough. I too had the same experience of the last year exam as that of yours. I fell short of 13 marks in aggregate last year. All my paper went well.I pray that all hardworking and committed aspirants may pass this exam. Ameen

Sir, indeed, my experience of CE-2010 regarding English Literature was very good. I hadn't prepared much, yet since I was in touch with this sub at my Masters so therefore managed to score well plus the paper supported me. This time I found the papers a bit difficult being off the set course. For example, they asked about Shaw's Arms and the Man whereas keeping in view the syllabus of English Literature for CSS one might prepare Pygmalion only. I am glad that I was all ears when we were studying Arms and the Man during our Masters, therefore, managed to attempt the question.

I am not worried about passing it, InshaALLAH I have full faith in Allah that I'd be able to pass it but might not be with the marks that expected . May Allah help me in getting good marks too

My optionals were :
Arabic
Punjabi
International Law and
British History .
This was my second attempt . In the first Attempt I had Journalism which I replaced with Punjabi this year . As journalism proved to be a nightmare for many aspirants .
I was able to make through all subjects with fairly good marks , but unfortunately I could not get passed in Islamyat .
The rest of the result was more then my expectations . Yeh journalism 's score was not satisfactory despite all 20 correct mcqs .
This year I have focused on all but speciall on Islamyat . Journalism I had already replaced with Punjabi , which Insha Allah will prove a very wise decision I am foreseeing this .
I am very much optimistic about result .
The thing which makes me a little sceptic is Essay .
The topic which I selected for writing my essay was

The Reason Doesn't apply to Anything in this Country .

I am praying to my Great Allah for my Success and I have full faith in Allah's Rehmat . The rest of the exam was much better then i had in 2010.
Compulsory papers were much better all of them.
In electives if some subject was weak, that was British History.
I am optimistic.
But

Bro...i know ur prepration was up to mark.nd i m sure u wil get through in this attemp.dnt wory about british history..although paper was rather tricky,yet british histry is stable sbjct ..it is also a scoring one..wish u gud luck for css reslt

I also participated in css-2011. Exam was not very tough. Hopefully a large number of candidates would qualify it.

My optionals in CE-2011 attempt were Constitutional law, intetnational law, journalism, punjabi, sociology & usa history.. it went a satisfactory attepmt.. can anyone plz share xperoence with constitutional law and usa history..

How was your Indo-Pak history paper? Which books did you consult?

i opted journalism, sociology, british history, international relations and business management..
i m not sure about any of the subjects.. no major blunders but the thing that worries me the most is that people always filled up whole of their answer sheets, while I, with my slow writing speed, could only manage 4 to 5 pages for a 20 mark question..
apart from that, i have a feeling that brit history II, english precis and journalism can prove to be fatal..
since last 4 months, everybody i hear, keeps saying that papers were easy and all went fine.. well i guess then they would axe most of us during the checking process... maybe something similar to what happened to journalism last year..
and this mode of thinking has been gradually bringing my confidence level down

My optional subjects were:
History of Indo-Pak
English literature
Sociology
Journalism

All papers Alhamdolillah went good. Lets see whats result.. wish you all very best of luck..
