@dms664

"So called war on terror" started just a few years back, but the war that is being fought on LOC for the fulfillment of Panga craze of "your" army, has been hampering the infrastructure of most of the areas of AJK since 1947. Prior to ceasefire, I hardly remember any day of my school life without having fear of being bombard in School by Indian Army. Believe me there was no terrorist heaven in our school. 9 out of 10 districts of AJK are directly on Line of Control and for last 60 years development has been the toughest task on this front-line territory: being used as a Military exercise field. I solute the love for knowledge of Kashmiris that still we manage to possess highest literacy rate when compared with all regions of Pakistan.

Why? because there is a war on terror going on "AGAINST TERRORISTS" in FATA?
cool down dear Its not about fighting on quota, just argue with solid reasons. And if some one is new on forum, it doesn't mean you can call him incompetent. Every one has freedom of speech (though its not a case in some of our RICH cultures)

don't complain this way...
Just do your best and excel in right direction with full commitment. You need to be concerned about your own task first rest goes on accordingly.. Best of luck

after the November 2003 ceasefire agreement, AJK is very calm. I have many cousins in the army and now people actually wish to get posted to kashmir as compared to being sent to FATA.
Most of the population of AJK is abroad so the life standard is quiet well in AJK. There are many universities in AJK but not a single one in FATA and the list goes on. I don't want to present a cry baby picture here as I myself belongs to FATA but this apartheid with FATA makes me go berserk at times When I see people knowing nothing about ground realities and talking like an authority on the subject.

Sir I have presented some solid reasons in my above narration and I insist that now there is trade on LOC instead of live fire so the quota should be withdrawn from AJK aspirants and it can be added to the quota of Balochistan.

Let me clear I didn't call him incompetent. If you read my post again you will get to know that I was asking him not to whine like an incompetent aspirant. Still If it created some bad taste please accept my apologies.

Dear Raz!

First of all, i admire your sincere effort and help that you have extended to the members of this forum. Indeed this is a great thing which no body can deny.

But at the same time, while giving an estimate of the expected groups of people, we must keep the following things in mind:

1. For few people, CSS is a thing larger than life. They do attempt it to be placed in a certain group. As your guess is completely based upon assumptions of the preferences, this can never be a true reflection of the results. In the opening remarks, you have written that the original allocation would match 90% with the allocations you have made. In my opinion, they will come down to 20% if more than 10-15 people have different preferences than you expect them to have.

2. If you allocate a person to a certain group which is his desired and preferred group and at the end of the day, he is not placed in that group, who would be responsible for the shock that he gets?

3. Rules of allocation are not that simple as we treat them to be. They are based upon complex calculations and even fractions could change the group allocation of a person. Moreover, few people are marked with "Suitability clause" for a certain group and few may not join as well. If we consider both these factors, the whole exercise of allocation would go in vain.

Keeping in view all the points that i have discussed, my request to you is that whenever you are going to predict for a certain group, do it for a single person by knowing his preferences. In that case too, you should tell him/her that these are just assumptions and you may get a higher or lower group. By that, their expectations would remain under a controllable threshold value.

At last, i wish you best of luck that you also get placed in your desired group whenever you appear again in Competitive Examination.

regards

No doubt AJK has a better law and order condition but its population, infrastructure can not be neglected as factor behind quota distribution is not only law & order. AJK was not awarded quota on sympathy bases so that you will seize it, as now, its normal over there. I'm not complaining for low quota but what so ever is done must be on logical grounds.

Thank you for sharing a ludicrous joke...
Brother we are talking about quota distribution of CSS not about alms distribution.

Please don't be emotional. We should not be complaining against any percieved higher quota of any other region. Without naming any other region I totally second you on this. AJK quota is less than what it ought to be.

Dear,

Firstly, please don't mind but never call any one incompetent. The competency is not only about facing "war on terror" or "Indian bombs on the LOC". Believe me, every region of Pakistan can come up with such factors, no exceptions here.

The point which Farhad and lovereflector want to make is simply a question of maths. The total population of AJK is about 4 million which is 2.2% of total population of Pakistan. There are about 1.5 million migrants from Indian Occupied Kashmir living in Pakistan, getting education from highly qualified teachers and fabulous institutions, fall under AJK quota as well. This makes the whole population aspiring against AJK quota 5.5 million which is 3.05% of total population of Pakistan.

Against this backgound, I second Farhad and Loverreflector's point of view about increasing AJK quota to 3%.

Please excuse me; I am dull enough not to understand your logic behind this argument. 3.05% population and 2% quota, even that needs to be reduced. Is it what you are proposing?

It is neither possible nor acceptable to other regions. Aspiring population against AJK quota is 3% of Pakistan so the AJK quota should be 3%.
