I got less than 25 marks in Essay. I have been winning quite a lot of essay writing competitions from school days. I worked as an essay writer for an online company when I was in my teens. Writing had never been my weak point. I got my essays checked by a number of Professors and got positive response from them. Still I failed! The reason? Maybe I mentioned Anti-Semitic expression as something transgressing the limits of Freedom of Speech. I also emphasized on Islamophobia but the Jew-hater Checker didn't like the point on Anti-semitism and failed me. RIP objectivity! Biased checkers!

Well in crux, CSS looks like a lottery ticket, specially in this year.i am really astonished to see the results, 2.09 % only !!! what the …. means its not a cushy job to manage all this. luck luck luck ……. Many became even scholars but could not pass , means luck luck luck … hard work , hard work , hard work …..Prays ,

Bmahmood Bhai, i have been going this forum and coming across various posts that are similar to yours. Don't take it as a personal reply. it's just that i think i should furnish answers to such questions (and unfortunately i came across your reply)

Life does revolve around luck. I am lucking to be born in a family that could afford education and provided me with one. If not, Allah could have made me born in a family that could not afford to give me what they could.

Similarly luck is involved in everything. There may be many candidates who worked on 4 topics only and were lucky enough to be asked questions about those 4 topics alone and they passed. This was their luck. But hard work does play as well

History books tell us that the names of Hazrat Umar RA and Abu Jahal were both "Umar". Hazrat Muhammad SAW prayed to Allah to make one of them Musalman. Why did Allah chose Hazrat Umar RA and not Abu Jahal? Was it not unfair? For years i was of this opinion that Allah is just and fair but why this? Then an Aalim gave me an answer to that. Hazrat Umar RA was chosen to become a Muslim because "once he was going through a bazar and had fingers in his ears (as per Quraish's instructions to everybody). While crossing over, he loosened his fingers to hear what the Muslims are reciting". So Hazrat Umar RA made an effort and Abu Jahal did not. And that is why Allah chose him to be a Muslim over Abu Jahal

Many of us have gone through failures. That does not mean that it is the end of the world. And if a person can not digest this failure, i am very sorry to say, he would had serious issues in services too. My 2010 (dismal performance in Interview= Failure) left me devastated. The same was repeated in 2012 (even worse because i failed my essay- the same topic- by 2 marks although previously i had done well with it). But now i feel that i have grown more within these 3 years and can make some sense out of it. Baki Allah ko pata. Allah sub ki hifazat and madad karay

Second , i did not take it personal , its my pleasure and welcome to your comments. As i considered , luck , prays and handwork to be a spinal cord of success in exam and this is very much true. In all cases of probability , any one of factor or all the factors works together to bring desired result.
Thats why FPSC gave an essay never never never never give up … !!
