Muslim Law is among very low scoring subjects. so, in my opinion one should abstain from opting it. For three consecutive years , i mean in 2010, 11 and 12 it has remained low scoring one. therefore , one should go for subjects like Muslim Law, Public Add or Indo Pak only when one is left with no other choice.

you must think again on it as it is no more a scoring subject with a lenghty scope of study.

As far as scoring trend suggests , all of the three are good ones. Now you have to keep one thing in front of you and that is in which of these subjects , you feel comfort , interest and ease in preparing.

Brother ! Look no one can tell you exactly the subjects which you should choose unless you yourself shortlist few subjects out of which one can suggest you the better ones. Therefore, go through the subjects list and shortlist those which you think you can go for. Then here seniors would tell you that out of those which one are scoring and easy and which could be prepared in shorter time.

Few Questions:

1. How to prepare for Pak affairs? What if the preparation is done from one source only?

2. Best book for the preparation of Pakistan Affairs? Ikram Rabbani, I.H.Qureshi, Different Academy notes?

3. Best book for the preparation of Islamiat? Anwar hashmi?

4. Best book for the preparation of EDS? Kashmiri?

5. Can I get outlines for each subject's important questions? (In order to get idea of attempting a question)

6. Best book for the preparation of sociology?

7. How to prepare for the subject Journalism?

8. Best book for the preparation of Accounting and Auditing?

9. Shall I go with compulsory subjects first or optional?

10. Should I join any academy for the preparation of CSS and if yes then which? (From Karachi)

Dear it is quite ambiguous that how to prepare it . However , it is quite pertinent to use more then one sources. As well as pre-partion period is concerned , Trek to Pakistan is a very good book for that or one can go for the book of I.H. Quraishi . Either if these works well , though I went for Trek to Pakistan . Now if one fails to understand some particular thing from this period from either if these books which one is using , then one can have the clarity of that particular thing from INTERNET. As well as post partition period is concerned , for that Internet , Newspapers and notes prove really helpful as this portion often contains questions from current affairs. In this regard Ikram Rabbani book also helps .

This question I have touched in detail in the above answer.

Quote:
3. Best book for the preparation of Islamiat? Anwar hashmi?
Islami Nazaria Hayat by Prof Khursheed is the best . Besides this , Laqa ul Mohsin's book also is very good as for as theory related questions are concerned . However , as the trend has got a little changed and Islamyat paper also contains now a days question related to current affairs . So , one needs to study some general stuff related Islamic teachings about current happenings.
For this do the following things.
Read Friday special edition of Newspaers.
Friday Feature of Dawn Newspaper.
Listen to the Lectures of Dr. Zakir Naaik , Prof Asrar Ahmad and other scholars from INTERNET

4. Best book for the preparation of EDS? Kashmiri?
As well as Kashmiri's book is concerned , I found its language quite complicated and it not clears the concepts with ease specially for those who do not have science background. In this regard , the book by Fridi publishers by Dr. Rab Nwaz Samoo is much better . I covers all the syllabus , has simple language and concepts get clear in an easy way.

Quote:
5. Can I get outlines for each subject's important questions? (In order to get idea of attempting a question)
Sorry, I am unable to comprehend this question properly .

Quote:
6. Best book for the preparation of sociology?
Sociology by Abdul Hameed Tagga is considered a very good book on this subject as well as its preparation for CSS in concerned.

Quote:
7. How to prepare for the subject Journalism?
Today was the paper for journalism CSS. If you see the paper it was mixture of both questions from the books as well as general questions . The better book for it is the book by Abid Tehami , The Competitive journalism.
Another good book in market is Exploring Journalism by Mirza Yousaf.
However, the language of Exploring by Mirza Yousaf is so complicated that it often creates problem for reading. While the book by Tehami has been written in such a way that one gets prepared in shorter time . This book is good for exam point of view also as there are maximum number of headlines in it.
I , after buying and studying both of thse books had found abid Tehami;s book much helpful as compared to that of Mirza Yousaf.

8. Best book for the preparation of Accounting and Auditing?
I am sorry , I have no idea about this subject.

Quote:
9. Shall I go with compulsory subjects first or optional?
Well my personal experience suggests that one should start from one optional and one elective subject simultaneously. Make your time table in a way that you can give time to both of these.
Secondly , CSS is more the exam of better English Expression. Not only there are the papers of Essay and Composition but in all other papers sound English expression , speaks volume for one's maturity and attracts the examiner. Therefore, English should be given time on daily basis.
Reading English newspaper , preferably Dawn, necessarily needs to be made a habit. Not only it would bring improvement in English expression but also will equip you with knowledge regarding current happenings which would be extremely helpful for essay , C.A , P.A as well as for Islamyat.

Moreover the CSS aspirants should start from the easier subjects.
In this regard from compulsory subjects start from Islamyat or Pak affairs . The reason is that we all have the basic knowledge of both of these subjects.
And as I said earlier that one should start one compulsory and one elective subject simultaneously the elective or optional subject from which we start should be the one of which we have background . Like if someone has Masters in Mass Com and has one of his elective Journalism , he should start from it. Or if someone has opted some history subject and has interest in history , then he should go for that

Quote:
10. Should I join any academy for the preparation of CSS and if yes then which? (From Karachi)
I believe , one may think of joining an academy for basic guidance . But after that it is more a waste of time energy and money . If one already has basic knowledge of the requirements of CSS, has chosen a sound subject combination and has got good and relevant books of the subjects, one should not join any academy.
