Default Access to KPKPSC in Peshawar Cantt?

Dear all,

As you might know, some of us have CSS exams in KPK Public Service Commissions' building on Fort Road, Peshawar Cantt. I want to know if the army check posts would allow people/cars to reach the venue easily? You never know, things can happen in Peshawar anytime and they tighten the security a lot.

Regards

I went to KPPSC 2 time after APS attack..If you are entering through main road, covered with Army, then you have to submit NIC or Driving License...best option is submit your license.. but if you are entering right in front of Archive liberary, through a police check post, then you dont need any card..but there u cant enter with a car...

If you have personal vehicle then the army check post may not allow you. So the alternate is to go to khyber road and enter the cantt via police line road. There is a police checkpost, show them ID and letter etc and they'll allow you to pass through.

This was the case last year. Now things have slightly changed after 16th Decemeber! And since his question included cars as well, so unless your car has a cantonment sticker, it wont be allowed to pass through the barrier.

So for private, non-sticker car owners who wants to visit commission, they should take the police line route!

If you are going by foot, simply take a turn on the road near the edwards college and at the end of that road, show your letter and CNIC to the soldier on gunpost and you'll be allowed to pass through.

Thanks guys.. The Police Line road's entry from Khyber Road is very restricted too. Army check posts are very strict sometimes and they don't care about anything. So do you suggest that I come by car and then walk to KPKPSC, the car goes home and comes back at 5PM? What will I do in those 2 hours between the papers.. I think I will not take my mobile so that will be even more problematic.

Yes! they'd let you go, they might be checking your vehicle for security reasons but that's just okay. I have been to the KPPSC's Office some 8-10 times in December (2014), January (2015) through my private car and there was no hurdle while getting to the commission's office, so, you should not worry about these petty things just focus on your preps. Moreover, in December (2014), I frequented the Accountant General Office and the Chief Minister Secretariat, too, but every time the Pak Army personnel allowed me after clearing my person and vehicle through security check. And one thing more, use the road which directly leads to the R.A. bazar which is the main route for getting to anywhere in the Red Zone cause I have been using the same route and don't know about other access roads whether they're thoroughfares or not.
Good luck bro!

Thanks for the assuring reply bro.. Actually it sounds like a small thing but exams are getting nearer and petty things get amplified, nerves on the edge and panic setting in.. So you have to be sure about everything just in case.. But yeah I thought about it, if they won't let anyone in, then they won't let others in too, therefore stopping all the candidates which would force the commission to change the date or venue.

Don't know about RA Bazar road, but I think Mall Road or the entry from railway station side is good.
Good Luck to you too..!

salam seniors

rightly said by the senior that exams are getting nearer and panic setting in and we need to be sure about everything , specially the venues of our exams.

i wanted to know that for candidates like me, who would have to come from hayatabad, its going to be a tough task.
how early are we suppose to leave keeping in mind the present circumstances of strict security check. as, i have never been to these places, so i dont have any idea, moreover, what are we suppose to do for 2 whole hours , i m sure we cant go home and come back again.
are we suppose to leave our cell phones at home?
it might sound lame, :-p
but its bothering me.!

Regards
