Hello all! I m dr. Ali and i just went through my psychological examination today. I think i was little dominating in the group discussions and command task and the interview with psychological panel was little wierd for me.
I must tell u here that my interview was the longest one in my group. I was 4th person to go. The psychologist in the centre appeared little disinterested. Albeit they asked me alot however i didnt get any response from them especially the lasy in the centre. she seemed to ask me something and then it seemed that she is lost in her thought. didnt smile, reacted or anything..
I happened to drop one question asked regarding the president of south africa otherwise majority of rest were of general nature.
can anyone please tell me that what could be my fate?? how important is this interview and how do they present their report to the interview panel (I already know about suitablity).

Thnx
Dr.S.M.Ali

We cam say nothing regarding your interview, however hope for the best

i think there might be something special in you, thats the reason that they have taken more time from you than others,

but please, how do you know about suitability,

waiting for answer,

Regards

Engaging you for a longer period doesn't mean that she likes you or otherwise. The more they engage you the more things they are exploring from your inner side. Because you people are trying to expose your self as the best, sober, and best suited for civil services. Panel knows about your tricks, your pre-planned answers, and your academy feeding. They find it very difficult to differentiate in your honest answers and your cosmetic replies. That is why they try to consume your extra time in order to reach at your inner core and dispose off your polished / learned / intended attributes those you have planned in advance.

They find it very easy when one remains natural and straightforward. They consume their lesser time because they conclude his/her personality and form a fair opinion for him/her within few minutes.

Completion of 35 incomplete sentences, and response of 185 questions are the crucial tools for them to assign some attributes to our personalities. Where we candidates attempt these exercises sharply with pre planned target in order to hide lot of realities, or when we leave lot of sentences incomplete and when we hit the center button of "?" in 185 question most often then they find this situation very difficult to form a fair opinion regarding our personalities. In that situation they try to consume your maximum time on the second day in the psychological interview in order to find maximum answers of those questions which you have intentionally left unanswered in your first day or where you have tried to hide true responses.

She was nice with me. She facilitated me a lot in expressing myself. I am bit reticent and weak in spoken, specially in Urdu. She asked me about my own assessment. She asked me about the over all aggressiveness of other members in group. I was very honest in self assessment, I told her that my command task went average, or even below average but my group discussions were satisfactory.

Honestly speaking I could not understand my command task and resultantly I could not explain to my members very well so suggestions went off the topic.

She was a "motherly figure" to me i really had a great discussion with all of them. She asked me range of questions about ma area,ma province and particularly about ma views about Balochistan. The other two ladies were also very much nice. I was frank with them and made all of them laugh twice with a bit of sense of humor. They particularly asked me some personal questions which i had mentioned in the proforma. They seemed sympathetic n understanding.
So i really don't understand what could be the reason for their harshness in your respective cases.

@Fida
Believe u me u participated in the GD with good logic and maturity of thought. U have a very good understanding of issues and you will INSHALLAH have a great Interview.Mark my words.

P.S our group was extremely cooperative and nice and i really wish all of them their first choices. You guys really rock.

Hello All
This was my psychological experience:
Day I:
Arithematic test containing questions like: number series, finding age, coding, decoding, etc

Patterns test quite easy if you practice on these

Personality traits questions: quite easy as you are rewquired to answer in agree, disagree, or don't know (178 questions in all). Most of them were repeated in but in different words

Sentence completion test: Real tough one as you are given seven minutes and not a second extra to complete the sentences.

Autobiography: again a bit tough in a sense that you have to give your entire life sketch, achievements, likes, family background, etc in just 8 minutes

Personality proforma questionare, most of you might be knowing about the 20-questions. (If anybody wants these then send me message on my cell 0333-*******)

Story writing a tough one as we were required to write 3 stories in 15 minutes in all.

Note: For day I of your psychological test, practice as much as you can.

Day II

Group discussions.

Urdu topic: Taraqi yafta banne k liye taraqi yafta mumalik ki aqdaar ko apnana
zaroori hai.

English topic: Nuclear weapons are a false deterence for the nations

Command tasks:
A resistance group has captured 4 pakistani and kept them hostages in Kab. one of them is deadly ill and needs immediate medical aid. The Resistance group has warned the Pakistan governement that if the hostage dies, it would be responsible for his death. They have demanded that Pakistan government change its stance viz a viz Kashmir and adopt a neutral policy. As D.G. Foreign Affairs of the concerned department what recommendations would you suggest for the Government of Pakistan.

There was a break then. Afterwards we were called for the interview with the panel of psychologists. (It was a neck-break experience for me as the panel gave me a real tough time. Cross-questioning my every argument and questioning its authenticity)

Generally the areas they focused were:
Personal life.
Why did i do degree as a private candidate etc.
Current job that I am doing and why would i be leaving it given that I am earning more salary than I would be earning as a CSP.
Remedies for the econmic ills of Pakistan and their causes. (They cross-questioned my every argument in this area and cut me short aometimes as well)
Operation Raah-e-nijat (I had written in the proforma as a short term action of the current goverment that i supported and liked).
Sufi poets of all the provinces of Pakistan
Cities of the country that I had visited.

Nothing was asked from the autobiography that i wrote, favourite books, favourite personalities.

Note: Attitude of the lady psychologist was quite agressive and hostile.

Note of Caution: Keep your cool and answer every question confidently. As i did not loose my tempo throughout my interview with the panel.

I am still unable to figure out why was the panel's attitide towards me so agrresive right from the very begining. Please give your valuable comments on it.

Thanks.
