This subject is a lost case. Though I have great interest in I.R. I swear will never opt this in my next attempt. I had 55 Marks in 2011, which are this time merely 36. As if in a year I forgot what the subject is all about...Though I never believed in the scoring trend, but this time the fpsc has successfully changed my mind

You are right, I would say IR is not only less scoring in CSS but in masters also.
I prepare IR in masters and I had interest in it but IR and public administration disappointed me
stay happy.

A deadly blow to IR aspirants.

Over the years, IR has remained low scoring subject. Aspirants often decided to opt this subject just to support their current affairs subject and gain strength in Vio Voce but this decision did not fall in the lot of calculated decisions.

Marking scheme in CSS is flawed. It is destructive; It either makes or destroys careers of aspirants. Those who wisely opt subject make way to civil service. Subject selection is not a criterion to judge abilities of candidates. Those who lag behind in merit order only due to suject selection are not less competent.

I scored 28 despite excellently preparing this subject; 15/16 MCQs were correct. Moreover, i excellently attempted 4 questions. But i cannot understand how i have scored only 28!!!! Its out of wit.

We are competing for an exam where the subjects of pure intellect are neglected while subjects like Punjabi are blessed.....I thought that hardly one can have such an awesome paper of IR as i had (not a euphoria), i had almost 14 MCQs perfect and was doubtful about 2, assuming i got 15 in MCQs, i secured only 18 out of 80 as i ended up securing 33 marks only , real shock for me.....

I would advice the aspirants never to opt that subject or else get ready to face the music. The CSS exam really needs to be reformed, this time only those have been able to make it to allocations who had opted Psychology, wow what a criteria.....

They must write these words at the gate of CSA: "Sir You can't enter the CSA because you made a blunder by not opting Psychology" .....

I suggest there must be only Compulsory subjects, yes they can increase the number of Compulsory subjects but only that would ensure Justice.....

I got 45 in IR without consulting any book or notes. With a prep of 15 days I scored this and I know I had only 5 to 6 correct MCQ's. I wrote the answers giving my original and personal view that was not influenced by any other's writings. I think people lack originality in IR paper. This indeed is a very risky paper similar to CA. Subject selection indeed is very important. And I don't mind this thing at all. A person who is aspiring to be a CSP should be a good decision-maker. A person who can't even choose right subject for him/her-self how would he/she take good decisions as a CSP?

may i ask you a question?

How is originality of a candidate judged in psychology? its a pure rote study.

i got only 33 in I.R.although i have done master in political science and IR was one of my subject during that exam. my subject was fully prepared and i donot know what happened there. i was expecting more than 60 marks and i shocked to see only 33.

therefore, i have replaced IR with public administration this time for PMS. I request all the aspirants to think wisely beforing going to exam with IR.
