Default Motive of Sultan Mahmud

1 The main and overriding motive of Sultan Mahmud was Politico-economic.
The motives of sultan Mahmud are analyed as Religious, political and economic. After critical and threadbare analysis in the light of contemporary and modern historical soures, the consensus opinion over his motives is politico-economic.

You can give your answer from any perspective. If you read Hindu Nationalist historians they brand him Plundrer or Looter. In short he was " raider in chief ". But Muslim historians respect him as " champion of Islam" he propagated Islam. Moreover he had Hindus in his Army.

bro not only hindu but mostly british historians regard him as plunderer and so far muslim historians regard him as what you already said but in different way because they say that he was the ruler who opened gates for muslims in sub continent that lasted for centuries in short critically his motive was economic-cum-poltical so you have to answer that in this perspective though after detail discussion of historians you can prove that his motive was economic-cum-political
lane poole, jafar, ishwari, tame boost etc all ended his fantasy tail in this perspective because his invasion was religious never had enough evidence of being the primary reason stay blessed
