@AFRMS

Dear senior i am a newcomer on this forum and hoping to appear in CE-2012, i have selected zoology as my optional subject as i have a background of Biology especially cell biology, molecular biology and genetics etc.

Your posts have been very helpful but i want to ask a question that you have mentioned so may books for zoology preparation.. for me its not possible to go through all of them.. kindly tell me whether zoology books of BSc level are enough or not for preparation? and the link which you have posted for the book of Miller and Harley is also not working. So please help me regarding that also as i myself searched a lot to get e-book of that but in vain.

Also i have much less time for preparation so please tell me some essential books which should be read necessarily.

The Bsc level books are more than enough,do add points where necessary from net or Master level books.Just be concise and to the point while attempting answers and draw labelled diagrams.
And about the link ,will check it and add a new one if it doesn't work.
I have mentioned books in the relevant section,do check them,the easiest to follow were the ones by Indian authors like verma and others by caravan books
.

@AFRMS

I would like to ask that which books are more easy, syllabus oriented and less time consuming? PS Verma's or Carvan Publishers?

Both are good and easy ,you can use both.Verma is good for general questions,caravan's book is good for example oriented questions.

I read carvan's zoology + biology [as is written on the cover (i don't exactly know if the carvan's book you mentioned is the same or not)] a few months ago but i faced few problem. the topics were haphazardly written and i could not manage to get every point from it despite of having a skillful background of the subject. please comment on it and also on ps verma's book.

Carvan has separate chordate and invertebrate books ,both detailed and easy to understand.The ones i used were by Khan Rafique.I used Verma chordates and invertebrate for general questions only and also genetics by verma.There were some topics that i couldnt find in the books or if present were too short ,for that i searched online.
