The writer wrongly claims that clashes between ethnic Pashtuns and Urdu-speaking immigrants (Mohajirs) from India started in 1980s and were over access to property and jobs. The real problem went back to 1960s when Ayub Khan and his son started punishing Karachiites for voting overwhelmingly for Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, a sister of the founder of Pakistan, who opposed Ayub Khan, the military dictator who spoiled Pakistani politics for all times to come. The writer’s assertion that Pashtuns and Mohajirs fought over jobs in Karachi is anything but truth because the two communities, because of their different levels of education and job skills, mostly operate in entirely different job markets, which fact was also corroborated by Pashtun party chief in Karachi. A foul-mouthed former interior minister is very vocal these days against Mohajirs and their popular political party MQM. During one of his outbursts, he said words to the effect that M.A. Jinnah, born in Sindh, created Pakistan and then Urdu-speaking people came from India to seek refuge in safe-havens in Pakistan; denigrating their services and sacrifices in the creation of Pakistan and calling them mere parasites. Unfortunately, similar feeling was held as far back as 1947, in Punjab, a province which holds 65 percent of the total population of present-day Pakistan. This prejudice resulted in the separation of East Pakistan and is behind ethnic riots in Karachi. So, squeezed to the limit, Mohajirs organaized themselves in 1980s and started ‘active’ resistance against excesses. Pashtuns and Punjabis are ‘natural’ allies’ in Karachi and through their overwhelming presence in forces and law-enforcement agencies, they even launched two brutal state operations against Mohajirs’ representative, popular party MQM, which only exacerbated the tension in Karachi.

Such anti-state,terrorist,notorious and blackmailing political groups as MQM should be banned, obliterated and crushed,no matter whichever ethical group they represent.MQM is more of a shame than a political party, one which Pakistan cannot afford.A third 'most brutal' operation is needed.
The people of Pakistan's largest city have consistently inflicted the misery upon themselves by voting in Muttahida Qatil Movement. What more, because of the voters from a single city, the whole country is now suffering.People of Karachi should use their vote to scrap MQM,because MQM kills the people from the very group they claim to represent, and then indulges in dirty politics over their deadbodies.Enough of this blackmailing by a group of rogues and goons.Either the masses put it right,or come one day,the establishment WOULD put it right through another Naseerullah Babur.Only a bit more brutal and lethal this time round.

Census work in Karachi is completely bogus and fraud. All things were hijacked and done in political party's offices.

It is sheer injustice to this country and that is what i am trying to convey. The same groups tried to do this malpractice in 1991 and the census was delayed for eight years and was conducted in 1998 with the help and support of army. They are trying again to show themselves more in numbers (by forcing the census staff to make fake entries in registers) to grab the resources of other regions through NFC award but will never be successful in their nefarious design, IA.

Thanks to the efforts of many people, the concerned quarters have opened their eyes and plan is their to freeze the resource allocation on 98 census. Read the following news story published today.

First of all you have posted a wrong comment in this thread as this thread is not on the concert incident. But I want to ask you that what is the connection between the sad incident and the respect of women?
