Default Reaching Out to CommonWealth Sch. Alumni from Pakistan

Hey M. ALI,

Couldn't help noticing your generous responses to many CS aspirants last year (CSS forum, Pak) . Feels reassuring when someone goes out the extra mile esp to lend an helping hand to others.

I am just reaching out to CSC Alumni like yourself. I am aspiring applicant myself for the year 2012. Had few thoughts that I wanted to share.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Hey M.Ali

whats the mode of communication for final selection by ipc..Do they call or send out letters?

I would prefer if I could have ur contact email add. I already tried your LSE email. I am not sure if you are using that anymore.

Well, till two years back, they used to send letters via registered Post. I don't know if they have started sending Emails too. But, I guess they also used to call at candidates numbers for confirmation. The Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) in place of MoE) would notify the list of selected candidates by the start of November and ask you to send in the completed application forms of Commonwealth Commission by start of December.

If selected by the Commonwealth Commission for the award of Scholarship, you will hear around end of march or start of April next year, directly from the Commission in UK.

The Forum policy does not allow sharing of email IDs. I guess you'd have to resort to using this same place.

got U !.

I just got a call from ipc for my nomination for UK. First thing is the islets. 10th dec is the best I could do. Given the 21 dec deadline from cwc, would that be OK if I get my scores after the submission to CWC. Secondly, I am a recent fulbright alumn as well, how far U think its apt to play that card in application or is it better not to highlight that all.

It is better that you submit your IELTS score while submitting the papers. This would make your application complete from all aspects.

Secondly, whereas the Commonwealth Commission is blind to the person's previous education, it does take into consideration the fact that had the candidate been priveleged before. In this case, you have already availed a scholarship, so better not play it too much. Also, while making your case do try to justify how would your proposed education contribute towards the national development.

Federa, what is the timeline for different submissions mentioned in the letter.
