Eligibility Criteria:


a) Pakistani/AJK nationals

b) Candidates must have minimum sixteen years of education

c) Maximum two second divisions throughout the academic career

d) Maximum age on Wednesday September 07, 2011:

a) 40 years for full time regular faculty members of public sector Universities/Colleges and
employees of the public sector R & D organizations.

b) 35 years for all others.

e) The candidates must have obtained 50 or above marks (Accumulative Test Score) in the
GAT-General test valid from October 11, 2009

f) The candidates who are already availing any other scholarship are not eligible to apply

g) The candidate must have acquired the requisite qualification on or before September 07, 2011


Overseas Scholarships for MS/MPhil leading to PhD in selected fields Phase 2

You have to take departmental permission or NOC.

Application Procedure:

The following documents are required to be submitted along with the printed copy of online application form:
Attested photocopies of all educational testimonials.
Attested photocopy of CNIC
CV/Resume
Research Proposal
Attested Copy of GAT (General) result card.
Original online Deposit slip of Rs. 200/- (non-refundable) in favor of the Director General Finance, Higher Education Commission, H-9, Islamabad on account number 0112-00500119-01, HBL Aabpara Branch Islamabad as processing fee
Important Note:

All scholarships will be awarded on open merit
Government employees should apply through proper channel
Candidates having MS / MPhil degree (18 years education) will be preferred
Candidates are required to make sure whether their field of subject is being offered in their choice of country/university, otherwise candidate will not be considered for interview.
Candidates are required to indicate the countries/universities of their choice in order of preference in the application form. HEC reserves the right to re-allocate any country / university to the candidate.
Only short listed candidates will be called for interviews
Short listed candidates will be interviewed by the relevant country selection team for award of scholarship.
Awardees have to execute a bond with the HEC to serve in Pakistan for 5 years after completion of study, preferably in an institution of Higher Education.

I have a question regarding the following application condition

GAT-General test valid from October 11, 2009

Do we need to have the NTS score before we apply? If someone has not taken the NTS test of of now, then he/she cant apply?

Dear HEC arranged special GAT test on 7th August 2011, especially for these overseas scholarships.

I qualified GAT General Test in July 2009, yet it was must for me to qualify it again on 7th August. Yet those lucky ones who qualified it in October 2009 were eligible to apply.

It just needs a gud n impressive interview which will give u scholarship.GAT score doesnt matter in schlrship.My frendz getting 50 n 51 r nw in italy n newzealand.N i got 70 but still here.You need to prepare research proposal n must have a comprehensive homework about ur field n area of interesr n the country whch u select.
I want phd in management but france n germany r nt gud options so m going 4 AIT thailnd as this uni does support ma area.

How will you get shortlisted for interview without good score??? I think your friends would have good academic background...

u need NOC from ur organization to apply for HEC scholarship. U have a good score and hopefully will get scholarship

bilal plz guide me about research proposal... i m also applying for managemnt.. wat abt ur qualification??? 16 years or 18 years???? i have MS in finance but i have not received final transcript yet... wat abt u?? and i got 52 in my Gat score.. is it sufficient..?

I am of economics subject with 71 gat score....
