No Sir, picture abhe baaqi hai. Number of scholarships are much higher than that of commonwealth scholarships.
Plus there is also quota system in this scholarship.

Sir in fact the problem is this quota. On open merit could have chances. Neither I am lady nor from out of Punjab. So if quota system would do anything, it would adversely effect me.

if quota system exist what would happen and i think its hard to imagine

Last year 6 candidates from FATA were selected (don't know whether it was for management sciences only or all categories because the selected candidate told me that he was on 6th position in FATA and he went to China later) and FATA usually gets 4% of the total seats in federal jobs or scholarships. So you can calculate the number for Punjab.

Can anybody tell the number of candidates appearing last year??

There are roughly 11375 candidates this year.
