Dear, there are both areas i.e. District and FR Tank, same like FR Peshawar and Peshawar district.
They were asking about District Tank and asked that what will I do if i am appointed as DC Tank...

p.s: after 18th amendment, the control of FR regions are given to Political agents and in past its control lies with the DCs but in practice till now, the control of FR regions are not given to the Political agents and it is controlled by DC and AC of the respective nearby district.

Tank is District not in FATA and it is part of zone 4

Tank in not in FATA but there are 1.FR Tank and 2.Tank District.

Frontier Regions
The Frontier Regions (often abbreviated as FR) of Pakistan are a group of small administrative units in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), lying immediately to the east of the seven main tribal agencies and west of the settled districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each of the Frontier Regions is named after an adjoining settled district and is administered by the district coordination officer (DCO) of that adjacent district. The overall administration of the Frontier Regions is carried out by the FATA Secretariat based in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The six Frontier Regions are:

As far as Tank District is concerned:
Tank, is a southern district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The city of Tank is the capital of the district, which consists of Union Council City I and Union Council City II. There are sixteen Union councils of district Tank. Tank was formerly part (Tahsil) of district Dera Ismail Khan District. Tank is bounded by the districts of Lakki Marwat to the northeast, Dera Ismail Khan to the east and southeast, and FR-Tank and South Waziristan to the southwest, west, and northwest.

How much score would be enough to get allocated in PMS this year ? Any guesses or ideas in view of previous allocations in PMS ?

I think atleast 720 in written and 160 in interview with a total of atleast 880 marks.

My friend had 767 in written 180 in viva and 4th position last time in pms. I dont know if more or less seats would affect the merit or not

I am afraid that 880 will not be suffice. More number of candidates qualified this time and papers were also marks scoring except a few one. Any thing 900+ will be a fighting score.
This is my guess. May be I am wrong but it is going to be very tough this time and you will admit this.
