Ravaila you are learning pashto but you know that like punjabi there are various dialects of pashto depending on the region where it is spoken.
Zia, Lord Avalon and new student belong to Quetta. Islah G is from Pehawar. And if some one belongs to Kohat and its adjoining areas he will speak a different dialect. So in the end there will be a combination of various dialects.

well said red

as for as dialect is concernd no doubt it relates to particular locality even we the inhabitants of peshawar and mardan region dont understand the dialect of southern districts and FATA and baluchs.

but the main dialect which is in the books and for css papers is that of the main areas like peshawar , mardan, charsadda etc.

and its also the easy one..... and one can learn it.

during LLB my roomate from abbottabad a hindko speaker learnt pushtho easily and now can speak with us.

@Red flower

well i belong to kohat. thats y i use (ma for me rather than zama and as Islah G used jenay for girl where i would have used orki and for boy i would use orke). However i do agree with Islah G that text book pashto (yousafzai dialect) should be followed.

Regards

Hmmm newstudent I thought you are from Quetta. Good to know that we have a member from Kohat too. Hope to gain something from your dialect also.

I asked for the basics of Sindhi. But none responded.

@ravaila

no its not mixture of pashto languages. all of the posts contain text book pashto mostly spoken in peshawar, mardan, nowshera, swabi etc. if i statrted translating your english in pashto in karak or kohat pashto dialect, then u would feel mixed up. like for example

kana = rotiye (text book)
-------tikala (kohat)
-------nwariye (karak)

egg= agaye (text book)
---- oya (kohat)
---- ha (unknown origin but still understood in peshawer region)

which= kam (text book)
------ kom (kohat)
------ keem (karak)

so no one has tried different translation than the text book pashto.
